But that doesn't mean it's not a planet.
It's just a planet that got too close, it's the smaller one, and therefore it's the one orbiting.

And let's be honest, the moon is your typical planet... not much to look at, nothing really going on.
Earth is so exceptional that right next to it, anything else does inevitably look plain.
