I already have the #1 thing I'd want from Cold Steel if I... didn't, y'know, already have it.
Got my chisa katana in like 2005.
It has been taken fairly good care of, but I have been guilty of leaving too much residual lubricant on it over the years.
I'd take it out and clean/oil it about once a year. I was unaware for most of those years that you're not supposed to leave a bunch of excess oil.
My point is that the blade is most likely not in the best shape it could be.
Sure it makes me a lil sad, but let's be real, that mofo is gonna outlive me by a longshot.
The damn thing is glorious and I feel so blessed to have it.
Definitely the #1 Cold Steel item I'd be drooling over today if I didn't have it, but this new thing I got...
It's actually #3 on my Cold Steel wishlist.
I haven't had the balls to acquire the item in the #2 position on the wish list.
I dunno when I will be able to take that step.
Swords, knives... they are special to me.
What they say about katanas developing a spiritual link to their owner is true.
I could tell you some spooky shit about that sword, things that defy logical explanation, and the fact that it's still with me after all these years considering what we've been through, pft...
Nothing short of a miracle.
But that ain't even the weirdest part.
Essentially man?
Some years back, somebody was handling the sword in my absence and they absolutely should not have been.
They were disrespecting me.
Anyway, when they put the sword back in the sheath, it "locked" itself in.
No one could open it for a couple years.
I kept trying every now and then and eventually it did open.
Then I gratuitously lubed it again, lmao.
I would like to say I've learned my lesson on overlubing, but...
It's like trying to cook a modest dinner...
I am incapable of cooking anything that isn't hearty enough to feed a small army.
