It did happen during practice, but I just get the feeling the industry as a whole wanted to sweep this under the rug and hope that everyone forgot about it.
Sure, the skaters are aware of the dangers, but...
So many of them are VERY young and impressionable. It's hard to grasp the severity of what can happen to you if you get injured for life, and when you're young, you don't think about that shit.
The responsibility is on the industry itself.
