I seem to recall reading somewhere that the "end of the world" type of event would happen after several false cries, and that it would be a 2-3 decades after 1999. Does that ring any bells?
There's been so many false starts and warnings.
String of massive bodies crashing into Jupiter in the 90's, leaving a mark on the surface larger than the earth.
Various comets.
1999 (Party over, oops, out of time)
Y2K
2012 (Mayan)
From Nostradamus:
His writings are cryptic, leading to varied interpretations, with some linking his verses to a 2025 asteroid impact or catastrophic floods, a period of war and plague, and a mysterious sea ruler.
Key Theme of the "End of the World" Prophecies:
The "Harbinger of Fate" (Asteroid):
A prophecy about a "fireball" from the cosmos has been interpreted as a dangerous asteroid approaching Earth in 2025, potentially causing cataclysmic damage.
