I feel sorry for Sam Altman in this interview. I dunno why he ever agreed to talk to Tucker Carlson.
Sam's basically trying to explain algebra to a monkey.
Tucker's admitted plenty of times that he doesn't even use the internet apart from pushing his own crap on the world. He's the last person anyone should be listening to about AI, on any fucking level.
Maybe Sam thought this interview could help clear up some of the ignorance surrounding AI, but nah... instead he gets a comment section full of total fucking lunatics calling him "robotic" and saying it's all evil.
3:30 of course it doesn't feel "divine" or "spiritual" to Sam, BECAUSE HE KNOWS HOW IT FUCKING WORKS.
15:05 of course Tucker's not sure, CUZ HE HAS NO IDEA HOW THE FUCK IT WORKS. He even called it "ChatGTP" at one point. So cringe.
28:40 hell yeah ChatGPT has saved lives. And I'm starting to think TPTB don't LIKE THAT.
29:07 no, he's not "unbothered" Tucker, he's just WAY SMARTER THAN YOU.
32:14 I totally fucking agree with Sam.
I think a lot of people are way too ignorant for the tech advances that are taking place... Tucker isn't even 60 years old and he's massively failing in keeping up.
Ignorant fuckers are gonna hold back progress and get a bunch of dumb rules set in place. Is it just ignorance, or is it insidious?
I think it's insidious.
34:29 the way Tucker is bringing this up indicates a high likelihood that the establishment has insidious intentions for fighting against OpenAI et al.
And yes, Tucker is part of the establishment.
36:08 I don't even wholly disagree with the argument Tucker is trying to make here, but there are a lot of subtleties that betray his intent. His voice becomes shaky and he just seems to be relying on talking points he's heard from other people (or was given) to pry deeper into this.
40:06 it seems clear that this man ended his own life and it wasn't instant... it's horrifying, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to deduce what probably happened. It's just gnarly that Tucker (and whoever is behind him) would take this approach and harp on this.
Someone who's gonna commit suicide ain't exactly acting from a logical state or a perfectly sane frame of mind. Not to mention the fact that he was probably HIGHLY intelligent. Those types of people skirt a fine line, and many times they can struggle with depression.
And maybe he WAS killed, but that doesn't mean OpenAI had anything to do with it.
Bottom line...
TPTB clearly do not like OpenAI, and therefore it must be assumed that, just like with Bitcoin, if it's not under their control, they don't want it to exist. They want their own version of it, they want a monopoly, and they want total control.
