It looks like my childhood cat.
He lived to be 16.
Nice Av, thanks Trix.
When I was 6 I lived in the country and a big white male cat lived in the woods in back of our house. I would walk out the back door and call for Snow Ball and he would come running. We tromped all over the country side. We never feed him, there was plenty of rodents year round. He just liked human company.
I have 11 cats. Every cat has a story. I started out not wanting to be friends with the cats. I moved to the country for my nerves. The feral cats were everywhere. When they are less than a year old and they get pregnant, sometimes they just have the kittens and leave, just not old enough to know what to do, practice kittens.
Some cat did that in the hedge outside my front door. I could hear the kittens crying for two days when I had enough. I brought them in and tried to feed them. One at a time they died. Each one waited till morning so they could die with me.
They would look at me and smile and then go to sleep except for one. Comet, somehow she lived. When she got old enough I put her back outside with the rest of the colony. She did real good for a long while till she tried to have her first litter. I found her in distress in the front yard and packed her up and took her to the vet, but before I left I heard this screaming and this huge, few hours old kitten stomped out of the hedge.
It was Big Baby Bear. I put him in a bucket with a towel and took his mom to the vet. She came through it ok $300 later. She didn't have any milk, the other kittens were still born. So I did the feeding and Comet did the mama cat thing. Comet stayed out side and I would bring her in to play with him. Bear is alive today. Comet got bit by a snake and I brought her in as well. Took her months to get over it. She died back in the spring, she just didn't wake up one morning.
I should start a cat thread.
