movie length

I would like some big budget movies that are based on good books/stories  to be much much longer in length . I think Prometheus and Alien Covenant could each have been 6 hours long  .  It seems we don't get enough of a good story  .  Those other horrible movies  with too much action sequences   and special effects can be kept at  2 hours max  as they cater to small minded people  with short attention spans .
