My worst fear with retrowave is that somebody is gonna start singing and totally fuck it all up.
There are SOOO few people who are qualified to sing on retrowave.
So few.
Countless retrowave songs have been completely ruined by vocals.
It's best not to have any vocals.
The best thing if you don't have a qualified singer with that genuine super retro voice is to just use soundbites and clips.
A few well placed clips can really send shit over the edge.
So much safer than fucking the song up with actual lyrics.
Unless you're Kristine or Adam McNab or Denys Parker, you really just have no business singing on retrowave.
You gotta have that retro VIBE.
