Now that I think about it, the Color Computer was impressive too, for other reasons. Although it shipped as a typical 8-bit home computer with BASIC interpreter and cassette storage interface, it had the Motorola 6809 CPU and could run the first ever true preemptive multitasking operating system for home computers, OS-9. This was a good decade before Windows, Mac, Amiga, or Atari ST offered preemptive multitasking.
