I think so to, that is too bad for her. She said she had a really bad year and things kept going wrong.
I think that is one of the trade-offs if you buy a cheaper but older, used van with lots of mileage. Sure it may be all you can afford, but if you're going to be investing into making it a home, I think it's better if you try to save up for awhile and buy a newer van that isn't going to breakdown and have problems.
I bet she had hotel costs on top of that, because where else is she going to live while it's getting fixed?
You don't want your home to break down on you in the middle of nowhere!
