I don’t even consider “sites” that only work on mobile apps to be “the internet”

The first platform I ever used which sparked my creative writing was a message board.

There's something about the 'Reply'/'Post Reply' or 'New Thread' thing that lights it up.

It was forum members who were creative writers who inspired me to try my hand at it.

I always liked chatrooms, but then message boards came along and blew that shit out of the water...

I still love chatrooms, but I don't find them efficient because (most of the time) text isn't saved and it's just lost forever.

I also think saving chat transcripts takes away the magic of a chatroom; it's supposed to be an 'off the record' fleeting experience where you can get crazy and nothing is saved.

So...

In my love for efficiency (saving all the word thingies, never having to repeat the word thingies, etc.) I chose the forum platform over anything else.

I've tried to get into the blog format, but it's just... so fucking boring to me. I'm attempting something similar with another website, but it's not going to be 100% focused on the blog aspect; the blog is just one part of it. But... yeah I have no intention of actually using that platform to write at length. That's just not what it's about...

If I want to write at length, I'll use a forum. Any forum.
