But that's not a setting you're gonna wanna require people to look around too hard for.
While we're on that subject, the most commonly used settings will be on a tab. One thing I absolutely detest about every Web forum is how the user control panel is spread out across 5 or 6 pages, and you have to wade through the pages (and wait and wait for them to load) to find a setting. Fuck all that.
Bear in mind, some features won't be in the initial release. I don't want to fool around for a year before I get the product out the door.
For example, there will be no guest posting, and you won't be able to block other users at first. The point of community software is to create a community. If people want to join the community, they need to register. If they're a disruptive pain in the ass, they need to be banned.
Also, a lot of administration tasks will be handled through phpMyAdmin or another MySQL admin program at first. When a community is first starting up, only one person (the sysop) will be using those features. It doesn't make sense to delay the product launch while I build what amounts to a whole second program for one user.
