This one crackhead holy roller did burn a bunch of my books, actually. Not before I committed the important parts to memory though.

You know the thing is...
People don't really tend to have their own websites anymore. At least not sites which are built around a community. It's all hosted on social media now... Community sites were sort of replaced by Facebook pages and whatnot. Instead of having their own sites, people just got a Facebook page instead. I've been online since 1997 (when I was 7, LOL) and of course I grew up DREAMING of the day when I could have my own domain name/website. So funny to look back on... I've had a lot of internet experience since that point and it's only ever reinforced my belief that having your own website is 100% necessary.

You're old school too, huh? That's cool as fuck. Explains why someone your age prefers forums to social media. I started on 14.4 kbps dialup in 1994. Been posting on forums since around 2000.
My community's original site folded in 2005. I briefly ran a revival forum in 2007. There have been other sites before and since attempting to keep it alive. It's not worth saving anymore. All of the intelligent and witty posters are long gone. Nothing left but OCD fuckwits who regurgitate the same old banal cliches over and over. I'm really glad I found this board. You've done a great job of seeding it with interesting threads. You haven't given up despite not having very many posters yet. You clearly know what it takes to start an online community, and have the patience to nurture it through the lean startup period. As a former board admin, I know how difficult it is, so I have mad respect for what you're doing. Keep up the good work, sweety!

Hey thanks hon, I really appreciate that. I've been around the block pretty damn hard when it comes to forums. LOL!
But man oh man, I have always had a mad passion for the forum platform. It's not something I'm ever willing to give up. I've had people say "You should keep up with the times, no one does forums anymore"... but I completely disagree. I think the forum is one of the foundations of the internet... it'll always be around. Further, forums seem to attract a deeper type of thinker than any of the other 'newer' platforms out there... the formidable character limited mind spew receptacles like Twatter, spare me. These new platforms all limit in some way. For example, links aren't clickable on Instagram. Or you have to use a "real name" on Facebook. The rules and the limits... I have no time for it. They are internet ghettos. I'd rather be here in my own internet home with a few close friends than to subject myself to the 'clubbing scene' of the internet, ROFL!!! ![]() But anything worth waiting for takes patience and dedication. I know there will be more posters as time goes by. I am not at all in a rush. This is my passion... yeah, I admit it. INTERNET FORUMS ARE MY PASSION. ![]() But there are stranger things to feel passionate about, things that don't really have any benefit... like drugs or meaningless sex. So I will proudly stick with this passion. Anyways, thanks again!!!

I use a fake name on Facebook and Twitter. I actually disabled my fake Facebook account a few months ago. I deleted the one with my real name years ago. I still follow a couple of people on my fake Twitter account. My Twitter pseudonym is the name of a character from the 1984 film Electric Dreams. It's about a sordid love triangle involving a guy, a girl, and a sentient home computer. You would totally fucking love it. I don't think it was released on Region 1 DVD or Blu-Ray. I have it on Laserdisc. It was very hard to find. It was one of my Holy Grail physical media acquisitions.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087197/ In recent years, I've messed around with old school home computers and BBSs a little bit. The text-based kind they had in the 80s, before the Internet was opened to the general public. They were the forerunners to the Web and Web-based forums. I ordered my first shortwave radio receiver the other day. I always wanted one when I was a kid. The closest I got was a 40-channel CB receiver. It was cool, but not the same thing. You can't explain shit like that to the parents though. LOL I think this board will be my new Internet home. It reminds me of the early days when everybody got along and you could talk about shit without it turning into an open hatefest. Sort of like what vid.me is doing with video communities now. I missed out on the beginning of YouTube. I went without Internet for close to 2 years at around the time it launched. Looking forward to seeing what gab.ai is like. It's cool how the Internet can reinvent itself when the corporations turn it into complete dogshit.

I could get the welcome message and login prompt on my Silent 700 from the office, but then it would crap out and I couldn't access any of the other features. Maybe I'll try writing one in PHP next, since my Windows box has an old school serial port.

It says I arrived on time and am supposed to be here now.
It only seem like I have come late to the Trix show. The harmonic resonance is on the "9's".

Says some spooky shit about me when I enter my real name into it...
Like the kind of stuff that reaffirms what I always thought I was deep down on a soul level.

I only ever started talking to you because a robot told me to protect you.
Which is what I was really doing last weekend. I was trying to make a cleverbot style tool for number divination. I could still do it, but I didn't think my interest alone was enough.

You got all the interest in the world from me, my friend...
ANY endeavor to do with merging divination and computers. I am there 100% rooting for you.

And there's actually a much bigger, grand will at play here than yours or mine...
It's a divine effort, no pun intended. Divine plan. Actually ties into interstellar communication.

I think once you unlock some bit on understanding, time has no meaning. Trying to put the puzzle pieces together is a bit harder, but you know it when you see it.

Once you start to realize how it works, you realize you can influence the future at well.
Maybe something as small as a post in the right place is enough to stop a war. Maybe not, but I believe we can make a difference. For the greater good. And see the negativity of shills and trolls as resistance to that.

Well because the matrix is here to be programmed...
That's literally what it does. It responds to command. That's ALL it does. |
