I'm starting to think science really has become a cult...

I've heard it stated a few times in recent years...

But recently, I can see how it absolutely is true.

Science has turned into a fucking cult.

I remember talking to someone years ago and I was casually sort of sharing this fanciful idea, something about space, I don't really remember the specifics...

And they came back at me with the most insanely boring, lackluster, imagination devoid answer I've ever heard, it was something about how they "BELIEVE IN SCIENCE" and don't believe in certain things being possible...

It was your ultimate brainwashed zombified answer/way of thinking that you've come to expect from the sheeple/normies, only it was tinged with science cult extremism.

Funny enough, that convo was probably like 6 or 7 years ago max, and the shit I was talking about is already being explored and looked into by people like Elon Musk/SpaceX.

Sooo yeah. Lmfaolol.

I'm just saying...

Having zero imagination, individuality, or any type of real depth as a person certainly doesn't lead to progress for humanity as whole.

Blindly following science alleviates the need to actually have individual thoughts/opinions or even an imagination at all, therefore it is the answer for people who are very boring, uninspired, and I would suggest sad or even miserable people who need a lot of help.

Just like any other religion or cult.

For real...

Think about anybody you know who is hardcore into science...

I'm not talking ACTUAL scientists, ROFL! If you know any of those, yeah, this is not about them. I mean, it could be. But I am just talking about your average Joe who might read some science journal and think it's the end all be all.

Think about what else is wrong with these people who are super into science with an almost religious fervor...

I notice they tend to have some pretty serious obsessions and other types of fixations or beliefs that they just can't seem to even IMAGINE beyond.

maybe this blind adherence to 'science' is just fallout from many centuries of very bad religions

people in general just feel like holy shit what are we supposed to believe in now...might as well just go along with the status queue

too bad that 'science' is now infused with massive bullshit and being used as a political weapon

common sense has now become a breathe of fresh air

It's actually really sad, they'd be better off as Christians.

You know what, Guest, I think you hit the nail on the head right there...

Humans have an innate tendency to look toward something bigger/higher than themselves to believe in.

This must just be the flavor of 'belief' and 'ritual' that these specific kinda people gravitate toward.

Science (or scientism) became a cult when it became too complicated for ordinary people to follow and they had to start taking the scientists' word for everything.

There is no "belief" in science. Science has the burden of demonstrating facts. If 1,000 scientists believe in the Easter Bunny, it doesn't make him real.
