NASA says a 'potentially hazardous' asteroid, which could be bigger than the Eiffel Tower, will shoot past Earth next week (yahoo.com)

[*]An asteroid possibly bigger than the Eiffel Tower is expected to fly past Earth next week.

[*]NASA has classified the huge space rock as "potentially hazardous."

[*]The asteroid will travel at a speed nearly equivalent to 20 times as fast as a rifle bullet.

Weird thought: this is a body that wants to orbit the earth, so it'll come close enough to scare the shit out of people, and then curve around and shoot back away as it makes it's first cyclic pass.

These stories are always kind of exciting but there have been A LOT of them in recent years. A definite uptick IMO.

I feel like we usually get way more advanced notice, and the news makes the AP rounds. This is announced mere days prior, and almost no coverage, which is strange to me, given the speed, proximity, and that the size is much larger than average. TWSS.

Hmmm
This is interesting. Here's another asteroid that Nasa says will fly by in 2029. The interesting thing about it, is that Nasa also has described this one as "size of Eifel Tower". I mean... what are the odds of two asteroids bearing the same dimensions flying near-to-earth within 8 years of one another? Fucking astronomical, no pun intended. Also, they detect one almost a decade in advance and give it a name, and this new one was just announced yesterday?

This isn't a crazy idea. "Eifel Tower" is weirdly specific. I wonder if there's any occult significance to the tower? Of course there is. There HAS to be, lol.

Sticking this here for later use:

Close-up of the top of the tower looks pretty intense:
