She's had a very high quality, long life for an outside cat, and things are better than ever for her.
Awe, fuck yes. That's so cool to hear. Also what a great story about the farmer and the cat, once at war, now bringing each other comfort.

When I talk to Elvis, he looks at me intently, as though he's trying to understand the words I say.
He knows his name, and answers to it.
He understands "come here" and "get down."
Audrey lives in her own little world. She comes and goes as she will. She doesn't understand any human speech. I think she may be autistic.

This was a few years ago, and of course I'd heard about your cats at the time, but I never thought about it in relation to my own cats.
What does Audrey mean??
I'll have to get to the bottom of this, but first...
Coffee.

I do admire her independence, especially since she's such a small cat.
Sometimes I wish she was more affectionate, but then I remember...
She's Elvis' cat, not mine. I got her so Elvis would have a companion. Elvis adores her, and that's what matters.

The name Audrey is a girl's name of English origin meaning "noble strength".

I named her Audrey because she looked like Audrey Hepburn when she was a kitten.

Her white socks make her look like she tiptoeing. It reminds me of the scene from Funny Face where Hepburn was dancing in the beatnik nightclub.

I thought Fred Astaire was way too old to be Hepburn's love interest in that film.
She was like his Manic Pixie Dream Girl, I guess.

She was insanely hot in that show.
Be sure to watch Fire Walk with Me after you finish the series. It explains the whole thing.

Yeah my cat looked like the kid from Home Alone, looked like Opie from the Andy Griffith Show...
Lmfao.
But told me her name was Audrey at one point.
The meaning of the name (noble, strength) pretty much sums up the very nature of cats, so it makes sense.

I never called her Audrey though.
I've had other cats tell me their names.
One of them was David.

Whenever I hear the name Audrey, I can only think of Audrey Meadows.
When I was like 10 or so, I was totally obsessed with her and thought she was sooo gorgeous.

I definitely think she's one of the most beautiful women who ever lived, but that's all down to personal preference.
She was very unique.
