Hmmm
I had maybe 10% white head hair by 25 years old I think due to anxiety and crazed family, no effect on my pubic hair

I wonder if it causes baldness too

Stress and trauma (mental and/or physical) causes all kinds of issues with hair and nails as well since they're made from the same stuff as hair.

Stress/emotional upset can cause the cessation of nail growth, the loss of hair, and of course, the loss of pigmentation in the hair.

This is because the body's resources are accessed to be burned as fuel to survive whatever situation is being faced at the time. Unless these resources are purposely reintroduced into the body by foods and other nutrients, there will be a serious lag behind when it comes to hair and nails, and the consequences will be observable within months.

In the same token, when nutrients are replenished, it takes months to see positive effects from that process as well.

When discussing changes to hair and nails either for better or worse, you are dealing with a window of 6 months at the least before any effects are observed one way or the other.

Gelatin is the cheapest way to service your hair and nails...

You can get uppity brands on Amazon, or you can get the cheapest stuff and still get all the same benefits. You can also eat a mass amount of Jello weekly, but I don't recommend that method as there is far too much unnecessary sugar involved. Regardless, this is why Jello is a staple in hospital food. Gelatin (collagen) regenerates the elements in the body used to make/strengthen bones, cartilage, tissues, etc. The benefits of gelatin are endless and most easily observed in the nails and hair over the course of months.

Biotin and gelatin together... you will have no problem with nail and hair growth if you're a healthy person. Even if you're unhealthy, you'll still see growth in these areas, but be mindful of any blemishes that appear on the nails during growth, as these are indicators of other nutrients in which you may be deficient, or other issues that could be affecting your body in general. For example, if you're still stressed and don't deal with the things causing you stress so as to mitigate its effects from your life, you may be able to grow long hair when supplementing gelatin/biotin, but the hair may be gray... or the nails may grow, but they may have white spots, ridges, or any other blemish that is an indicator of residual issues that need to be addressed further.

Its DHT dihydro testosterone you have high testosterone levels.
Basically you make to much usable testosterone, which makes you go crazy and die.
So your body converts it to free unusable testosterone to save your life.
But then it becomes a free radical floating around your body causing organ damage.

So the body turns it into a water soluble form to get rid of it.
And unfortunately the place it damages most is the hair follicles via evaporation.
You excrete it in many places but mostly it evaporates on your scalp when you hit sunlight killing the hair follicles.
But only specific androgen type follicles which is why the hair from the side of your head isn't affected.

Its like dudes who go on Testosterone replacement therapy when they have low Testosterone.
First thing happens is they lose their hair.

Here is Elon Musk with his hair transplants growing in.

Would eating marshmallows give you enough gelatin?

It'd give you some, but obviously the sugar offsets any beneficial effects...

Better to have it in jello if you're gonna get it from anything besides a straight up jar of gelatin powder.

This is why they feed hospital patients jello, it's a dense source of gelatin.

I've been supplementing it for almost 2 months and I'm starting to see a speed up of nail/hair growth...

You have to get over the hump where the gelatin is slowly just rebuilding in your system and replenishing that deficiency...

Then beyond that, the excess gelatin in your system is what starts going toward longer nails/hair...

But the real good that is being done under the surface besides nails/hair is the strengthening of bones, teeth, connective tissue, and literally every other material the body is made of.

A lot of this has to do with how gelatin lubes the body...

https://www.sectual.com/thread-17156.html

It may seem surprising but gelatin is also helping to keep your body lubed...

This is what fiber does in general.

Gelatin and fiber function in much the same way and in fact, I would recommend gelatin supplementing over fiber supplementing if you had to choose.

Of course you should have both. Fiber from food (mostly greens) and gelatin supplemented on top of that...

But as long as you get enough gelatin, things are going to be running more smoothly anyway.

Supplement one tablespoon (sometimes I use 2 but if you're trying to make this supplement last, don't do that) in a cup of juice every day. You need a taller glass cuz you're gonna have to stir it a lot so make sure it's tall enough that it doesn't slosh out everywhere. Pour the juice in. Pour in the gelatin powder. Stir it FAST, switching directions every 15 seconds. You'll know when it's mixed enough, it takes a bit but it's important that it's mixed thoroughly so that the gelatin can 'bloom' properly throughout this process. Let it sit for ~30 min. then either just drink it, or use a spoon if it's too thick to drink.

If it's too thick to drink then I typically just add more juice to it right before I take it. You start to really look forward to this because it is a delicious snack. If you like jello. If you DON'T like jello then I recommend you just deal with it and take it anyway. Seriously, nut up.

Once you correct a gelatin/collagen deficiency...

You gotta remember, there wasn't enough in your system before and it's a lot like when water has been turned off for a long time, then you turn it back on and it runs through the pipes and out comes a lot of air and gross dirty looking water before it ultimately runs clear again.

In hair and nails, this will present as a thicker, rough band of growth, and you won't see that "buildup band" for months because of the slow rate of growth. It's crucial to push to excess gelatin/collagen in your system, far past this buildup band point. You don't want to start supplementing and then drop off after a month or two... it needs to be sustained for at least six months, and indefinitely to be honest.
