S5 E13 - "Box O' Rocks"
0:30 looks like they're having a burial at the infamous Boot Hill!!!
1:06 I think that's the first shirtless dude we've ever seen on this show.
1:26 hotass dude on the right.
24:17 I gotta be honest, I have no idea what this episode was about.

S5 E14 - "False Witness"
0:33 lmao.
1:13 it's Wayne Rogers' fine ass again. I'd recognize that chin dimple anywhere.
1:54 he's definitely one of the sexiest sumbitches who ever graced the screen... great hair.
2:45 it's obvious that Romey guy did it, let's be real.
8:15 James Arness has such gorgeous hair.
14:00 so I guess they used to hang a butt ton of people in Hays. That's wank karma for a place.
24:08 OMG this is so fucking hot... *drool*
24:50 this is the most hardcore we've ever seen Marshal Dillon get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sexiest scene ever. So hot.

S5 E15 - "Tag, You're It"
0:35 reused (verbatim) Boot Hill opener. Pretty sure all the radio show episodes have Boot Hill openers and that's how you know the script is from the radio show. That's how I understand it at this point at least.
4:00 "Carl... get outta Dodge. Right now." Amen to that shit!
5:58 lolol.
16:35 I mean he literally walked into the place and drew on him, soooo. Yeah.

S5 E16 - "Thick 'n' Thin"
When it comes to Marshal Dillon, more like "thick 'n THICK!!!!!!"
3:00 there's a fly crawling on him.
3:44 the marshal is having them settle it with cards, lmao!!!
3:54 7 of Clubs means being on the defensive, standing one's ground, and in old school cartomancy it means small profits. Jack of Clubs means someone acting in their own interest, sizing up a course of action, and in old school cartomancy, it means a man that you share with. They had to plant the cards/put them in the script, so they may have been selected with those meanings in mind.
I don't really like this episode mostly because I don't really like the actor who plays Otie...

He was in 5 Gunsmoke episodes... I'll try to watch them when they come up, but I'm gonna skip out on this one.

S5 E17 - "Groat's Grudge"
This was the very first episode of the 1960s.
11:54 God he's so sexy, I want him so bad. Why are all the best men dead?!
12:52 that's hot.
12:58 "Mmhmm." Roflmfaofamraoamfamfafoalfaolol.
13:58 dude they're ALWAYS shit talking Delmonico's.
14:14 I love seeing Matt eat, it makes me wanna fuck so hard.
16:03 "Well I ain't no painted lady." roflmfaololo.
18:08 awe, man I feel bad for this guy! What satisfaction is he gonna get from killing a dude who doesn't even remember him, lmao!?
19:22 never back up from the gun bro. Take a page out of Marshal Dillon's book and walk toward it if anything.
20:28 check out the fly that hovers around the gun in this scene, so epic.
I love the realness of Gunsmoke.

12:42 great music.
21:20 lol... James Arness is fucking HUGE.
22:00 I guess this guy is pretty big too, but he still just looks normal in comparison. He does have a pro fighter body though, so it lends some degree of realism to the situation.

S5 E19 - "Til Death Do Us Part"
1:39 look how smoothly he comes around that corner, oh my God... *moans in ecstasy*
2:11 "Marshal, you've allowed this town to become a sink of iniquity. A city of painted Jezebels, scoundrels and murdering assassins." Oh he uses his tongue real pretty!!!
2:17 I appreciate the fact that we've seen this same saloon girl in background scenes throughout several episodes, it's more realistic that way. Of course there would be women other than Kitty who are there for extended periods of time, so it only makes sense. This is her, Connie Lamont... https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0478736 Wow, it says she was in 57 episodes from 1958-1961. It'd be super cool to have a role like that on a show, just a background character that never has any lines. I love it! She's great, I dig her vibe.
3:12 wow this is really cool, it shows Doc making medicine.
4:00 they're adding various elements into the show as they go along to make it more "real"... I would say it only gets better from here.
16:28 that was so well done.
19:43 dude, Gunsmoke's gettin' kinda weird man. Like it's tryin' to get all up in us.
I think I kinda like it.
25:00 yeah, this episode is an absolutely DEFINITE turn in the series. They decided to say fuck ANY and ALL bullshit whatsoever, it's gloves off... they went all the way.
They decided to start taking things in a direction they never had before, and probably no other show ever had before either.
That's it, man... whatever episode that came before this was the END of the "old" Gunsmoke.
It's like Gunsmoke went Super Saiyan in season 5.

S5 E20 - "The Tragedian"
0:32 "You know, most of the cowboys, gamblers and gunfighters lying here were admired for their fearlessness... and their bold, rash courage. Like animals, they had no forethought or fear of danger. But there are others -- a rare few -- who possess a quiet, thoughtful kind of courage. And if one of these has been made weak by time and fate, people may laugh at him, mock him, make his life a torment. But when the time comes, he'll show that courage... even though he knows it could cause his death. Matt Dillon, US Marshal."
1:38 "Slumgullion"!?!?!?!? I've never heard of it. Apparently this is what it is... https://www.mydiasporakitchen.com/slumgu...oni-recipe Apparently it's called "American Goulash"... https://dwellbymichelle.com/slumgullion
6:30 this new serious Matt is so sexy and intense... I'm absolutely living for it. I hope we get to see him pissed off and violent more often like he was in the "False Witness" episode!!! *humps chair*
8:48 roflmao.
11:03 it's like he's gotten EVEN SEXIER.
12:20 look how fucking brooding and sexy he is barging in through that door... https://imgur.com/a/taV0AfW *drool* Fuuuuuugggggggh. Want it so bad!!!!!!!!
15:07 that's a heck of a stove right there.
15:48 I love Kitty's hair lately.
20:00 his every move is pure sex... https://imgur.com/a/El96mU5 *moans*
24:50 great music... very unique.

10:11 this lady really does look like she came right out of a wild west history book... I thought I even recognized her from historical photos I was looking at recently, but then I realized she's guest starred on the show before, lmao!!!
10:30 God he has such a sexy mouth.
13:00 the sexual energy of this show is INSANE.
16:00 Doc's in the lab!!! He's testing the blood to see if it's human, 1800s forensics baby!!!
18:18 lmao.
19:27 why them two were straight up KISSING!!! Long and hard!!! This definitely ain't no respectable establishment!!!
22:10 I think this is the first time we've seen handcuffs utilized by Marshal Dillon.
22:30 oh this is sooooo hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
24:55 "Well, I can think of a lot worse fellas to be chained up to!" Roflamfaolfol that's exactly what I was thinking.

3:35 creepy cracker.
4:45 does Doc have a doppleganger or something??
8:08 Kitty's pretty as a picture.
10:10 "You don't look like you got enough blood in you to stand there and talk that way." Funny he says that... I thought along the same lines when I first saw him too.

S5 E24 - "Kitty's Killing"
Oh my damn, this sounds like it's gonna be a juicy episode!!! *popcorn*
3:25 lol Chester's like "Thank God."
5:45 pretty scenery. I love more details like this being added into the show.
6:40 lmao Chester is my kinda man!
8:00 Marshal Dillon is just so much more intense than he used to be. Yet I couldn't explain what the heck has changed, not in any solid terms. It's something I can't put my finger on. It's incredibly enjoyable. I love what I'm seeing. I just don't really know what the heck happened. But it's like he's settled in for the long haul on this show. It's like some kind of deep knowing that this belongs to him, from now on.
I started to wonder if maybe there was anything going on in his private life during that 1959-1960 timeframe that could be influencing his mood on the show and sure enough...
Quote:The emotionally troubled Virginia Arness attempted suicide twice, in 1959 and in 1960.
https://www.inquirer.com/philly/obituari..._star.html
These episodes have been in late 1959 and early 1960. Some sources say they divorced in 1960, some say 1963. His autobiography says the divorce was in 1958, so I guess we can settle on that, but I find the confusion around the dates a bit odd.
I've read a lot of articles about the Gunsmoke cast, I've read the James Arness autobiography, and it all seems to point to his wife Virginia Chapman (a fellow acting hopeful at one time) being pretty jealous of James' success...
Quote:"As his career sky-rocketed, I gradually realized I was tied to a star that had turned into a comet shooting into outer space, leaving me earth-bound and terribly alone."
https://www.metv.com/stories/virginia-ar...erry-mason
I think it's sad that she let his success get to her that way instead of just being happy for him. In any case, I find it interesting that these things were going on in his life around the same time that this intensity becomes so apparent in him during season 5.
14:08 "I've come here to observe. To watch the human animals in action." Lmfaololol.
16:18 I kinda wanna hold Miss Kitty down and hump her a little bit.
18:20 I wouldn't comply. Never comply.
23:10 I like episodes with a lot of Miss Kitty.
24:55 look how he touches her... *heart eyes* This is the most action we've seen between them so far.

S5 E25 - "Jailbait Janet"
Roflmfao, that title though!
0:40 uh oh, this looks like trouble?!
1:46 that looks like a woman on the right.
9:58 told ya.
14:02 "Now, Janet, we're gonna send you down to the Long Branch to turn some tricks until it's time for your trial."
14:14 "Come on, Janet... we're gonna get you all nice and prettied up!"
15:40 "Looks real fine! I'm gonna be along later to tickle the back of your throat with my one eyed purple monster."
17:42 I love this side view, he has a gorgeous profile... https://imgur.com/a/lqdQ9uy
This show just keeps getting better.
18:21 lmao, dude got smacked the shit out of!!!
18:26 I love the way he bites his lip while he's roughing him up. This show will make you feel some type of way!!! I just find myself moaning in delight watching these scenes where Marshal Dillon is all angry and violent.
This is now one of my favorite scenes in the whole show... #backhanded

This interview had me crying pretty much the whole way through.
Haven't cried at an episode of Gunsmoke yet, but that did it for me.
The part about them being in the grocery store and her seeing the advertisement of him at the end of an aisle, and realizing that she was right there with him in the flesh... I was bawling.
The fact that her son was a huge Gunsmoke fan and he ended up with 'Marshal Dillon' as his step dad... it was all like a dream come true.
But it was real.
So I just looked at the autobiography where I have it bookmarked and it's the part that talks about when he met/married Janet...
And apparently her son's name is Jim too.
I think it's safe to say that the Gunsmoke universe is most closely associated with the name of James and all its variations, names carry a vibration/archetype and that's the one this show belongs to.

I think the character of Marshal Dillon probably had a huge impact on women back in the day...
So probably women born in the 1940s and 1950s were most impacted by this character.
He was probably the absolute ideal in a lot of womens' minds.
It's been so long that the only way to know would be to ask women from that generation...
It was kind of a long time ago though, people born in the '40s are no younger than 72 at the time of writing.

Because of reruns though, it might be a continuing thing.
Back in the early 2000s when I was obsessed with Michael Landon/Little Joe on Bonanza, I frequented a forum called BonanzaWorld.
Each male character had his own subforum where the women would hang out and obsess on him.
There were girls ~10 years older than me who were totally obsessed with Little Joe. A lot of the women who were into the other male characters seemed to be a bit older.
But there were other fairly young chicks there obsessing on these characters from this 1959-1973 TV show.
So I think as long as reruns are a thing, there will still be younger generations developing an obsession with Marshal Dillon for example...
But as time goes on, fewer and fewer members of the younger generations will even be into classic TV, which will whittle down the instances of idealism toward these characters.
It's fascinating to me.

1:45 this guy's a real piece of work.
4:45 I love just staring at his crotch.
11:30 lmao.
12:08 wow check it out, it's a cat.
17:52 I love staring at his mouth when he talks.
20:02 uh oh, Chester's knackered... this is probably gonna go all wrong.
22:48 speaking of a nice looking crotch, I meeeeean... *wink, nod*
23:46 this guy is successfully proving absolutely nothing, he's just crazy.
24:02 oh man... hell yeah, that's what I'm talking about. We're getting absolutely spoiled lately by these super intense scenes with Marshal Dillon hella pissed. It's everything I've been hoping for, and more!!!
24:34 he always makes the same kinda faces when he's stomping ass, so fucking sexy I can't even stand it!!!

0:33 oh yikes, looks cold and windy!!!
2:24 so there IS a blizzard coming.
4:26 you can put 'em between these thighs, Chester.
4:52 what the hell is "side meat"?? I've heard them mention it a couple times on this show. When I think of "side meat" I just think about Miss Kitty's OTHER men!!! *dancing banana*
8:06 you mean they're gonna send along some... SIDE MEAT?!?!??!
8:50 oo la la, watch him swing that ax... what a man!!!
10:08 I dunno exactly why, but this is definitely trouble.
11:58 lol, OMG.
14:46 oh dude, COME ONNNNNNNNN.
17:30 she's honest to God not even pregnant.
18:03 I kinda like him though, lmao. I like the way he looks.
19:27 I think I'd have rather slept on the floor. Or on top of the marshal.
23:20 this Jack Elam guy kinda looks like Hugo Weaving.
