Award for the most unique autograph ever goes to...

I don't actually have her autograph in my collection but I came across it in some of my research and thought it was the most perplexing autograph ever... pretty much no way to forge that.
I do think it's a definite bonus to have a very artistic autograph... not required but definitely something I personally appreciate and respect as a collector.

There's a lot in the psychology of signatures too... you can tell a lot by an autograph.
Some sign their names the same as they'd sign a check or something. Others make it a more decorative thing. Then there are some who just scribble and those are my least fave.

I'll bet she gives great handjobs.

I was never a Brigette Bardot fan as a youngster, I think I covered that here before. I didn't DISLIKE her, but I just never really watched anything she was in.
Maybe it's one of those "when the time is right" kinda things. I think she was extremely successful though... she really did it right. She grinded hard, became an icon, and got the fuck out of there at 39. Well planned, well executed, and absolutely well done.

Maybe it's because she's French... is she writing her name in French and that's why it looks this way??
Trying to search what the French alphabet looks like and it's surprisingly hard, lmao.

French uses the same alphabet as English.
You should try looking at French fonts.

This is all I can really find...
https://imgur.com/a/ZaXnz9P That could explain it. Still... Never seen anything like it, I absolutely love how unmistakable it is. I love the special flower touch she throws in there when there's enough room for it.

Still though, the lines she puts over the letters... There's definitely more to the uniqueness than just the fact that she's writing it in French style. I love autographs so fucking much, OMG.

I made a couple of dumb mistakes in my method of storing my autograph collection, I'm not gonna lie...
It was a shockingly noob mistake that I didn't even stop making til like a few years ago. Thankfully I scanned them all in before I ever stored them away so I do have that digital version forever. But still. Lol.

I mean it would only matter if I ever wanted to sell them, which I absolutely never would.
Some people do though... I think a lot of the autographs that end up on eBay aren't really sold by the original collector, they're sold by whoever ends up with them in their possession after the original collector died.

I obtained all my autographs from living celebs, the only reason to get them on eBay is if the celeb is already dead.
My general rule is that if the celeb is still living, and I can't get the autograph from them for one reason or another (defunct mailing address, autopen, they stopped signing them, etc.) then I just pass on it. Sometimes it ain't meant to be.

There were a few I really wanted that never came through...
I put in for Gene Wilder's while he was still living, never got that one. Also put in for Jessica Lange's, but I never got that one back and it seems like she's not too hot on autographing stuff. Most of the autograph fails have been because the mailing address changed. I've gotten some hella prized ones though... One of my faves is Dick Cavett. My God, he went above and beyond. You can really feel people's hearts through these exchanges. So incredible to have that autograph. Autographs are considered old school by a lot of people these days, but to me, there's honestly nothing better. Ron Glass, Hal Linden, Betty White... Lots of different ones that I've gotten in the past 10 years or so who are now passed on.

I love words/writing, so to me, having an autograph will always be better than taking a photo with someone, or just meeting someone and having nothing to show for it physically.
The fact that you touch the paper/photo, sign it, hold it... it's a really beautiful energetic exchange that is actually tangible. There's a great site that you can do research on to tell you whether or not the autographs are real or if they're autopen. I never go for autopen. I do only real autographs. I do a lot of research comparing autographs over decades to make sure the one I got is likely to be real. I'd say 90% of my collection is real without a doubt. Bob Newhart, Henry Winkler, Hayley Mills, Carol Burnett, Betty White... Some of my faves. Some of them have been low key disappointing, and there was one that I literally just fucking rolled my eyes at when I got it, lmao (looking at you, David Copperfield).

Amanda Seyfried was righteous as hell too, very sweet. I make sure to send a short note along to butter them up and let 'em know I am an actual fan and not just looking for some shit to sell on eBay. You can tell when you make a real connection by the way they sign and whether they say anything extra.
Ron Glass, my absolute total role model from Barney Miller (even though I was in love with Dietrich hardcore too), was one of the greatest I've ever gotten back... he actually wrote a few lines on the card I sent and I'm pretty sure I legit cried when I read it. So fucking amazing.

Jason Lee from "My Name Is Earl" went above and beyond also... I was a fan of the show but I actually sent in my request making it clear the autographs were for nieces/nephews, and he actually sent an extra photo back for me to keep as well. So fucking sweet.
I'm a shameless nerd when it comes to talking about autographs.
07-10-2022, 05:08 PM
Could talk about it all day.
One of the best hobbies hands down, if you're into that kinda thing. I've only met one other person who was actually super into it to the degree that I am.

If she is allowed to put a daisy in her signature then I am throwing in a penis and balls

That would be a good autograph for a comedian.
