Even if you lived in the northern part of one of those states, you could travel to the south every now and then to get some vitamin D from the sun.
There's a difference between supplementation, and ACTUAL sunlight on your skin... people don't get that. You need the sun on your skin for optimal growth exactly the same way a plant does.
ALL throughout your life.
When I saw that map today, it made so much sense. The best places I've ever been to, particularly in solo road trips, were those places with the acceptable levels of year round vitamin D synthesis. They just FEEL different.

Yeah but some places don't have the sun properly positioned over them to actually synthesize vitamin D for most months in the year... like, the more northerly, the less it is.
Just cuz the sun's shining on a winter's day doesn't mean you're getting vitamin D. If you're above the 36th parallel, you aren't getting any. At all.

It was a good show, but I don’t see how anyone could get excited about it 50 years on.
Well it was definitely no Gunsmoke, but CW is right it could be worse… maybe tonight it’ll be homemade porn featuring them spun tweaky birds, and you’ll be longing for Mayberry.

This is a great idea... should be able to get some cheap at lots of different stores. I tend to use the foam ones, but you gotta change those out every few days.

They were playing movies with full nudity on the tee vee at the day shelter one day.
I’ll look for earplugs next time I’m in a store.
Last night, I played one of those 10-hour videos of thunderstorm sounds and put the fone under my pillow. I evidently went to sleep before the battery died.

I wanted to check out a park near the lake that I haven’t visited in years, but there were two large dogs with no collars roaming free there, with no apparent owner in site. I got out of my car and started walking towards a covered picnic area. One of the dogs barked at me, so I left.

Four years.
Medical marijuana had just been legalized when I left. It’s a bit of a shock to see dispensaries on every corner now. Gas station style signs with pot leaves for company logos and showing prices for grams and ounces of weed instead of gas prices.

Colorado went to absolute pot (pun deeply intended) when recreational was legalized.
Now there are shit tons of vagrant homeless everywhere and basically all of the towns have gone downhill, even places like Vail and Aspen.

Most of the city is about the same as before. This park is on the side of the lake farthest from downtown, which is what gets most of the love.

It rained hard this morning for a couple of hours. Now it’s hot and clear.
I made $20 giving a couple a ride this morning. A middle-aged dude and a tweak bird. We stopped at a dollar store, and the guy spent over $180 on the woman. I don’t know if she promised him booty, dope, or both, but he kept muttering about how he had just spent $200, and it better be worth it. The vibe I got from her was that she wasn’t tickled about the idea of fulfilling her end of the bargain.
I took them to a seedy motel on the south side. He went in to rent the room. While we waited, the woman helped herself to a can of Vienna sausages I had in my car. The guy was inside for awhile, and I wondered if he had enough money left for the motel room. The tweak bird went inside, still eating the can of Vienna sausages. They returned shortly, and I helped them unload their bags on the sidewalk in front of their room. Then I left.
