how is that any different from balkanization? they've already modified their search algos to whitelisted sites. after this has been pointed out, google doesn't even do individual page searches anymore, it just adds more as you scroll.

Use it and make the most of it while the feature is still there... definitely. But to depend on it? To not be using your own platform all the while in addition to posting on theirs? It's just totally unwise.
I was just shocked to see it pop up and warn me about my comment, I meeean... I've definitely never seen that happen before. It doesn't bode well for the future of YouTube, but I've been calling the incoming eradication of the community aspect of their site since like 2017, so it's not like I'm surprised.
