Incoming California Megaflood

Quote:The Great Flood of 1862 was the largest flood in the recorded history of Oregon, Nevada, and California, occurring from December 1861 to January 1862. It was preceded by weeks of continuous rains and snows in the very high elevations that began in Oregon in November 1861 and continued into January 1862.

Quote:In 1862, a cataclysmic flood ensued, inundating the Central Valley and transforming it into a lake 300 miles long and over 20 miles wide; much of the now densely populated coastal plain in present-day Los Angeles and Orange counties was also inundated.
. . .
Now the rivers are dammed and lined with levees and drainage channels, protecting the critically important development on California's flood plains.
A megaflood would be a catastrophe for two main reasons:

1. California produces one-third of U.S. vegetables and 75% of the nation's fruit and nut crops — over 10% of the value of U.S. agricultural output.

2. A tremendous number of people and critical infrastructure now occupy the flood plains that were undeveloped back in the 1800s. Today, 10 million people and a $748 billion-per-year economy occupy Los Angeles County.

Quote:A plan approved last month calls for $25 billion to $30 billion in investments over the next 30 years in the Central Valley, and outlines recommendations that include strengthening levees and restoring natural floodplains along rivers.

They know it's coming.

I think it's all related to recent solar activity.

The drought has lasted for so long that the huge amount of water will shock the tectonic plates... once the water seeps down far enough and makes contact, there could be a mega quake.

Quote:The National Hurricane Center issued a tropical storm watch for parts of Southern California, a first for that part of the United States.

They're already cutting power in some areas. Some forecasts say 10 inches of rain.
