I just get whatever minty flavor is on offer. Mints are essential oils too, so it's like getting a free extra ingredient.

This reminds me of keeping herbal cough drops around in lieu of candy... https://www.amazon.com/Ricola-Original-N...-Effective This is one of the best examples, check out those ingredients... https://i.imgur.com/tqr2bIw.png Why mindlessly eat candy when you could suck on something with some healing benefits?! Some of the Ricola brand has that sugar free toxic bullshit going on though, NEVER get that kind. Heck, even Equate brand is better than that... https://www.walmart.com/ip/Equate-Value-...-160-Count Not my fave, but fairly delish nonetheless.

They're pretty decent. The peach tea is decaffeinated, which doesn't make sense because they add caffeine to some of the fruit flavor packets. The Crystal Light peach mango green tea developed a metallic taste if I let it sit too long in the bottle before drinking it. The Great Value one doesn't do that. I'm about to try the orange citrus flavor. It's a larger packet than the others. It says "immunity" on the label. It has vitamin C and zinc, and is sweetened with cane sugar and stevia extract.

I used to be kinda concerned about WalMart taking over the world, but so far I gotta say, they been doin' us all kinds of right. They're good overlords so far! Don't wanna get too used to it though... They could just be placating us and getting us dependent. No but this reminds me of some photo I saw on an Amazon review lastnight of someone who melted down cough drops to make cough syrup... ![]() Think I'd rather have the buttery Jim Beam. Or... JUST Jim Beam, lol.

Shane did a big video about all these generic brands being literally the same as the name brands... He's not really somebody most people on this site would wanna watch, lol, but it was pretty eye opening. I already knew like 90% of this stuff, but for the average normie, it'd probably be pretty mindblowing. I've been turned on to the generic vs. name brand situation for YEARS. It never fails that WalMart brand is better. But I don't think it's ALWAYS true that the products are made by the SAME manufacturers with the SAME techniques and I'll give you an example... Oreos. WalMart's Oreo knock off is precisely one million times more delicious than actual Oreos. There absolutely is a difference. The WalMart toaster pastries are massively cheaper and far better quality, more sturdy, better flavor than Pop-Tarts. The only other generic brand I have a lot of experience with is Food Lion brand. Food Lion's bread is the best bread of any brand, ever. Nothing else even comes close. It's not a dupe for any other bread as far as I can tell... it's entirely their own creation. In the early 2000s, Food Lion brand bread was NOTORIOUSLY HORRIBLE... it wasn't cooked all the way through, it was NASTY. But somewhere along the line, they must have listened to customer feedback, and miraculously they turned it all around and created the absolute best store bought bread that exists. Been the case for about 10 years now.

If you don't live in a state with a Food Lion, I feel sorry for yoass.
They need to branch out and open more stores... Can't believe they haven't already. Decent meat selection too.

Which is kinda ironic since some of their stores got closed down YEARS back for tampering with the meat, lmao.
Their meat selection is good because they carry some more uppity kinds of meat... If you're just getting their own packaged meat, it may be questionable still, but I dunno, they've probably stepped up their game.

I worked for a Pilgrim's Pride chicken processing plant that also produced some Great Value products. Walmart had their own product specifications instead of just copying the Pilgrim's version.

Someone was talking the other day about one of our local chains doing the same thing a long time ago. They were adding something to the meat to make it look fresh longer.

Undoctored meat is never pink for very long. It starts turning gray quickly after the animal dies. Therefore a lot of store bought meat must still be doctored in some way. It's probably legal too, since the government isn't busting them left and right for it.

I honestly don't even worry about a steak sitting in the fridge in a sealed package turning gray for a week. It tastes better, and it has never hurt me.

Yep, it's totally normal.
And it's fucking delicious. |
