OMG what sheer pure and total beauty...
I boiled the cabbage (salted water) and I have never seen such beautiful water than the purple glory that drained off of it.
I sautéed the onion in butter with salt, pepper and garlic.
It's by far one of the most delicious and beautiful things I've ever eaten.
The amount of total honor I feel stuffing this into my facehole is inexplicable.

I have no idea how purple cabbage tastes.
Onions are yum.
Can´t say I can imagine what your dish looked like. Just mixed it together in the end?

Yeah, I took the sautéed onions and garlic and topped the cabbage with it... that's where all the flavor is.

I'm so for real...
Get you some red cabbage and eat it raw.
I'm convinced it's one of the best things you can possibly eat.
Green cabbage, purple cabbage, doesn't really matter, just get some cabbage and eat it.
Of course I love it cooked as well, but I like it even more when it's raw.

Mix up a big colorful salad and dump a bunch of extra virgin olive oil on it.
Your innards are gonna be so clean and lubed from all that fiber and oil.
Apparently some people in the Mediterranean drink 1/4 cup every day...

I ain't saying you should necessarily do THAT, but don't be shy when it comes to putting it on salad.

Years later, I still forget to slice my garlic with a razor blade.

I made a salad of mixed baby greens, broccoli, and whole black olives today. Topped it with buttermilk ranch, and had a few slices of extra sharp cheddar on the side. It cleaned me out quite nicely.

Cabbage is the ultimate fiber... it does its job on turbo. The whole idea is that fiber really grabs onto the extra trash in your intestines so you can eliminate it.
I'm sure there's some kinda benefits to actually cooking the cabbage, but I feel like it's nerfing the true benefits when it's heated to the point of being tender.

I heard a guy talking about eating raw kale the other day. I love most other variants of the species (broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts), but I can't follow him down that road.

Well, I mean, it SMELLS like turtles.
So I figure it must be for them.

I never sniffed a turtle.
I had a little red snapper as a pet briefly when I was a child. Cute little fucker, as I recall.
It didn't occur to me to sniff him though.

I made a bitchin' mess of boiled cabbage yesterday, down home southern style...
It was beyond delicious, but I think I prefer cabbage raw.
At this point, I consider purple cabbage an indispensable staple. I like it even better than raw broccoli simply because it stays fresh for a lot longer.
The last few crowns of broccoli I got came with brown already on it and if you don't take care to meticulously get it all off, it tastes like a turtle smells.
That's my qualm with fresh kale, smells like turtle. Gross man. Kale and broccoli are in the same family so I guess it makes sense.
Cabbage is where it's at, it will never let you down.

I kept a shit ton of turtles (and hamsters) as a kid and that's why the smell of turtles is just... not something I ever want food to remind me of.
