My current favorite ASMR sub-genre is massage. In a lot of eastern countries, including Russia, you can get a massage from a lady barber in addition to a precision haircut with scissors and straight razor.
Many of the Russian lady barbers wear these Rode wireless mics on their wrists to pick up the ASMR sounds. I thought they were some kind of biometric tracking device when I first saw them. I imagined the ladies being trafficked into a sleazy massage parlor underworld against their will. lol
