I think the timing is dependent on doing the bulk of physical activities AFTER you eat in order to maximize digestion. You may be hungry enough for a snack a couple hours before bed but you wouldn't swamp your body with a bunch to digest too close to bedtime.
Breakfast and lunch then no more.
You snack snack on celery or carrot sticks wont upset you to much.
But nothing from lunch its over baby!
