Hubby and I were driving to Mount Rainier the summer of 1982 on one of the logging roads. Considering that we were in the middle of nowhere we just thought it best to stand in front of the car and take in the beauty. No sooner had we got comfortable, a very loud, almost debilitating mechanical sound came from all directions. We looked at each other and said, let's get the heck out of here now!

This story kinda reminded me of this strange almost psychic kind of phenomenon I've experienced throughout the years...

Basically, usually when I'm in bed going to sleep, there will be this anticipation of an extremely loud, inescapable, worldwide sound. Something everyone, everywhere will hear. Rather than a 'boom' though, it's like a constant tone, almost like a mega loud alarm. Over the years, I've heard other people mention that they get this same 'feeling' sometimes.

I saw a giant owl by the side of the road one night when I was driving home in the rain...

Looked at least 3 ft. tall.

Apparently there really are owls that can get over 2 ft. tall in this part of the US.

But it really did look taller than that.

The whole sighting had a really strange feeling about it...

Oh it was odd. Odd AF.

It just looked at me like "Yuuuuup."

It had a very 'cloaked' alien feel about it...

Just felt paranormal as fuck.

It looked about as tall as the floor to the doorknob. About 3ft tall but definitely no less than that.

If you Google "how tall can an owl get" there are some real fucking interesting things that come up suggesting to me that this is something people search for a lot...

It says Great Horned Owls can grow to "over 2 feet tall" but what kinda owl is 3+ ft. tall??



Great Horned Owl definitely doesn't look like what I saw...

It was mostly white/light colored with some color variation throughout, like maybe some light gray or something.

Very starkly light colored though, that was what really caught my eye and drew my attention over to the side of the road.

I thought it was a person at first, but it was...

Like a child sized owl.

Was it REALLY an owl??

I mean when I got a good look at it, I interpreted it as an owl, no question about it.

It had a giant white (light colored) owl face, the eyes were glowing cuz of my headlights.

It was only after I'd passed it and thought about it for a few seconds that I realized it was at least 3 feet tall.

Why would a giant owl be standing off the side of the road though??

I was the only car around at the time, but that definitely wouldn't have been for long.

The ONLY owl that it could have possibly been on that list is the "rare" Snowy Owl...

That article says they can be up to 28 inches.

That's just over 2ft. tall and yeah that's pretty tall but it definitely looked bigger than that.

Snowy owls can reach up to 27 inches in height . . . Male snowy owls are smaller than females.

I bet every single one of these strange "cryptid" and other weird creature sightings are literally just "rare" and likely damn near extinct species of straight up animals on the planet. It's probably not even supernatural at all. For real.

Even if some of them have some kinda weird interdimensional cloaking thingy going on, is that REALLY "supernatural" or is it just freakin' the way it is for some creatures on the planet? Like come on. We're so stone age, it's honestly obnoxious.

I keep thinking about the fact that I didn't tell anyone about seeing a GIANT owl.

Maybe this is why a lot of people don't speak about their Bigfoot sightings.

Rather than the fear of being judged, maybe some people are stunned by the supernatural feel of it and it runs in the same vein as repressed memories...

Of course I'm not suggesting that seeing Bigfoot or seeing a giant owl or even seeing aliens is "traumatic" but I think the unexplainable nature of some of these experiences gets 'sorted' by the brain in the same way as trauma does.

So this may be why some people don't talk about their experiences. Seems like it takes years to talk about some of the stuff, and some people probably never do.
