The ingredients say it's only water, salt and sardines, but I swear it tasted like broth.
What do you think happens to water when you put meat and salt in it?

Yeah but the other brands don't taste like broth. I always drink the juice. Chicken of the Sea tasted like chicken stock. No such thing is stated on the label though.

Hmmm...
Now I can see the obvious.
Maybe they add some kinda chicken flavoring to keep in line with their brand shtick but they don't have to put it on the ingredients label.
I mean, nothing would surprise me and it is certainly different from the other brands.

I open the can and immediately drink the liquid... WalMart's is very much just water and light salt content, Beach Cliff is a little saltier, and Chicken of the Sea tastes like chicken broth.

The Chicken of the Sea sardines seem to be cooked to VERY tender, falling apart... maybe that lends to the more brothy flavor. WalMart's are the least tender, Beach Cliff is in the middle. The flavor of the Chicken of the Sea sardines is probably the best, as far as being the least 'fishy' of them all. But that doesn't matter to me, I'd rather have WalMart brand or Beach Cliff.

I have several cans of the Walmart sardines in water/brine. Haven't had any in a while
but they're pretty good. I've got Dollar Store tastebuds. : /
But for real, most things Great Value brand, to me, are as good or better than the
branded equivalents. I can count on one hand with maybe a finger left over of the
brand-items I get. Not many at all.
Wolf brand chili [GV chili is gross]
Mrs. Baird's bread [GV bread has a funny aftertaste]
Ranch Style Beans [Haven't really looked into a non-branded alternative]
Ben & Jerry's ice cream [GV does good single flavor kinds but not much else]
Hostess Cupcakes [GV ones taste kinda off, especially the creme filling]

I'm legitimately obsessed with Great Value brand but... dude. Last time I actually went shopping inside WalMart was completely insane. I will never go in there for more than like 2 items, ever again. If I can't just carry a basket and everything on the list fits in there... I am not doing it.
As far as pickup, the parking area is sooo crowded. I just can't deal with that. I dunno what they were thinking putting it right in front of the store instead of on the side.
So these days, I am not getting my WalMart brand fix anymore. I'm having to shop elsewhere, lol. I will make a run in there for their canned fish when I run out though... I can fit it all in a basket so we're good. You can't beat WalMart's canned fish prices, for real.

I haven't been inside one in a long time! Probably not since sometime last year!
The one here is a Super Walmart so it's a sprawling mess. Never been to the Marketplace
one, there's also one of those here but I've only ever gone to the big one.
It's a bad time every time for me. I don't know if it's because I have empath-leanings
or what but I feel suffocated when I go into crowded places. And Walmart is usually ALWAYS
heaving with people. So I just do delivery. Which sucks hardcore the last year and a half
because they just don't stock like they used to! It's ridiculous! How ridiculous you ask??
A few weeks ago I wanted a 6pk of regular Snickers bars. Just a pack of six regular-sized
Snickers. NOPE! Had to ship them. Via Fed-Ex!! Dude, the day I got them it was over 100'F
and they were ALL melted and squishy in the package! Good thing they were individually wrapped
inside!! I had to put them in the fridge just to get them to take shape again! How the fuck
are you gonna be the world's BIGGEST DAMN grocery/retail store and not have a simple-ass
pack of Snickers on-hand??
And don't even get me started on the Ben & Jerry's situation!! I've had to go from my 1st choice
to my 2nd, then my 3rd, now my 4th choice is even hit or miss!! Are they phasing that brand out
or what?? But it's not just these "specialty/luxury" items, basic shit like packs of ground beef have
even been difficult to get w/o allowing for substitutions. And a lot of the time the items you choose
as substitutes are unavailable!!
I wouldn't at all be surprized if they shuttered the big store in the near future to the public and
just used it as a collection/delivery hub. OR, no longer offer delivery. Otherwise, it's just gonna
stay a mess like it is currently. So many things are just consistently unavailable. It's bullshit.

This is what I REALLY want. Places that have the WalMart Neighborhood Markets are so lucky. I am super jealous. They've been around for YEARS, why aren't they everywhere yet?? I've seen them in so many places on roadtrips, and they weren't even in BIG cities, they were just larger sized towns. They should have them across from regular WalMarts. Keep the groceries section in the regular WalMart, AND have the Market right across the way.

Nice, I've seen Brunswick a bunch in Steve1989's videos but I've never personally had it. As long as the tuna is in water (or olive oil) I'll eat it... if it's got any soy, I won't. Tuna in olive oil is the best. These days I just have it straight outta the can and I put hot sauce on it. I actually did make tuna salad recently though and that was great on a sammich. I'm thinking about replacing the bread with lettuce, make the sammiches wrap style.

I dunno if I've ever mentioned this, but... I was hella surprised at the amount of tuna that is in some of those rations. If a dude didn't like tuna, he'd be shit outta luck. Most people I've ever known are on the fence about tuna or they're really picky re: how it's made. Most people can kick it with a classic tuna sammich, tuna salad style stuff. But nobody really seems to like it all that much on its own. I personally love it. I used to think I was allergic, but since then, I have not had any more problems with it. It's great for cats too, but you gotta get tuna in water for cats because the liquid is all they want, they don't actually eat the meat unless they're wild cats. Wild and outdoor cats are usually far less spoiled and doted on than indoor cats.

You can't spell "meat" without "eat".
