I mean, I could be wrong though. Lol. It's possible that it could be successful... but I just think there's no way.
THIS is what YouTube was created for!

So this is basically a message board that looks like Twitter? Yeah, that's totally the future of social media. lol

If the tech shitlords think that's the future, my little pop stand of a website might be able to compete with the big players.

It was so perfect. So perfect. I will have to study the chart again to see how much I agree with it.

In a perfect world, the site you built would have been in place before Twitter, and Twitter never would have come along. And other people would have that software running on their own sites, and everyone would HAVE their own sites. We are living in backward upside down clown world.

I need to remember to click "Watch on YouTube" so I don't lose the video when I wander off the page.

It couldn't have come along before Twitter because I wasn't yet nostalgic for the old school Web before then, and some of the features were inspired by Twitter.

I couldn't care less about Threads, but somehow I've encountered the word "friendly" in regards to it multiple times today. That PR money is powerful.

Lastnight I had a window open with like 10 different YT vids waiting in queue...
Then I started commentating on a Charlie's Angels episode and got annoyed by clicking the wrong tabs whilst going back and forth, watching and typing... So I open up a new window and move the episode tab and the post page tab to their very own window. Hours later, that new window now has 10 different YT vids waiting in queue. End of the night comes, I close the Charlie's Angel window and I'm greeted by the old window with the original 10 YT videos waiting in queue. Long story short, bring on the ad blocking consequences, YouTube, because I can't shouldn't live this way anymore.

Does your browser have picture-in-picture mode? That would be ideal. Pop the video out and have it always on screen while you're commentating.

This dude doesn't sound like he's trolling about thinking Threads is gonna blow up.

Then again, when the first version of Facebook came out, I wasn't impressed because it was just some off the shelf Web 2.0 stuff bodged together,

It amazes me what non-techies find impressive, actually.

If "posted on Threads" becomes the new "tweeted" we'd have an improvement imo.

That's how you know some shit was funded from the start as a total plant. It never would have caught on and become popular if it hadn't been totally backed by $$$ interests, for VERY nefarious purposes.
07-06-2023, 06:57 PM
That doesn't change just cuz Elon bought it. It was started for a specific purpose and I'm sure that purpose is still being carried out. Those are bad vibes.

I don't know what they have in mind--. "Threaded?" I'm sure it's been addressed. Tweeting just seemed like the beginning of the end though
