I think Donald is happy to let Elon kinda take the reigns sometimes and take the pressure off him, it helps Donald conserve energy. Let's face it, the guy is old. He's not giving "decrepit" and he's certainly not LOOKING weak or elderly as shit. It's not that. But he IS elderly. So I think having this younger dude around him is better optics and helps him save/rebuild his vitality.
