A few years ago, MO uploaded a YouTube video in which she sang alternate lyrics to popular songs.
I've recently come up with a couple of my own. Wanna hear 'em? Here dey go!
I'm sippin' on moonshine!
Whoa - oh!
I'm sippin' on moonshine!
Whoa - oh!
And don't it feel good!
Chicken wiiiiing
With one tiny little bone...
I'll be here all week. Be sure to tip ya waitress.

Your version of "Walking On Sunshine" is leagues better than the original, I'll tell you that much.
I remember a few years back or something like that, I got that song stuck in my head and I wanted to hear it...
Looked it up on YouTube thinking it would be totally nostalgic and gratifying, but I actually thought the song basically sucked.
For real. It's the kinda song I've only ever really heard on commercial jingles and shit like that, so it's not one I have a history of listening to at length or anything.
And I was just surprised that it sucked so hard. Lmfao!
No offense to anyone who likes it.

Misheard/alternate lyrics are one of my favorite funny things to do when I'm singing along to certain songs.
Like of course there's the Ted Danson/Tiny Dancer tie-in... "Hold me closer, Ted Danson!"
But I figured out recently that Ted Danson puns actually work for any song where any variation of the word "Dance" is used.
God there was a great example that I came up with just days ago, can't remember now what the heck it was.
I gotta start compiling my fave misheard/alternate lyrics cuz this shit is a blast.

Here's a cute story I posted in another thread...

I didn't understand what he was saying though. Finally, I asked my mom, "What is laggerah?"

She's like, "No no, he's saying 'like a rock' honey!"
Which also made no damn sense to me at the time even though I understood it linguistically, I just didn't understand what the hell it really meant, LMFAO.

One lyrics site says that song came out in 1983. (I didn't verify it elsewhere.) I always thought it was more towards the late 80s. It doesn't have that early 80s vibe, although Manhattan Transfer had this hit in 1981.

Reminds me of the children's book Ramona the Pest.
Ramona actually named her doll Chevrolet, come to think of it.
She didn't understand the line in the national anthem, "by the dawn's early light," thinking it said "dawnzer lee light." She asked her older sister Beatrice what a dawnzer was.

It's an insanely funny book. Its target audience is 6 and 7 year olds, but most adults would probably get a kick out of it.

OT as hell, I know, but...
I'm so damn grateful that I recall sooo clearly what it's like to be a little kid.
The way it feels in your mind, the way you perceive things, just all of it.
I remember with incredibly clarity.
And I think that could be useful in relating to children as an adult/mother/etc.

People who don't remember what it's like to be a child must've had a crappy childhood.

To hold on to that 'child consciousness' inside yourself so you can understand kids...
Like, why they get all weirded out and scared in certain situations and shit like that...
It's pretty special man.
I was a pretty sensitive little kid, like if you weren't my mom, I didn't trust your ass or want you anywhere near me, facts.

We gotta protect the kids... man it'd be so bizarre to be a little kid in today's world.
I'm so glad I wasn't a little kid in this crazy technological boom... I had the internet, but there were no mobile devices that steal your attention every second of every day.

I don't give a shit who you were, stay the fuck away, don't touch me, none of that shit. I was scared as hell of old people too.
And I was very attached to my mom, but I even kept her at a distance... she said that I was never a fan of snuggles and I never wanted to sleep in the same bed or any of that shit!
I've always been the same.

You're like my cat Audrey.
Elvis likes to snuggle, but the only time Audrey sleeps in the bed is when she sleeps at my feet in the winter.
She stayed outside most of the summer, and I rarely saw her. She's only started sleeping indoors again in the last few days.

I remember exactly how I felt about shit that day!
ROFL!
I was so done with that fucking place!
I thought the whole 9 yards was just stupid, including picture day...
Thus the frown-smile.
This picture is under a piece of glass, that's why it's all scratched looking.
I only saw it again for the first time in elevendy million years the other day, I thought it was lost forever!
