My guess is that this has happened on this planet before, just not in RECORDED history.

I was just sitting here listening to Pink Floyd and it straight up hit me...
The intense sensory overload that ALL OF US experience every single day...
It amounts to a lifetime of shit shoved into a few weeks, max.
Even the people who lived the craziest most intense lives in history weren't this totally overwhelmed by sensory/info input by the end of it.
Sure, there are remote tribes on the planet who don't have tech...
But let's face it, they're outnumbered.
The majority??
We must be getting close to the next major wipeout...
Gotta be.

Less than 200 years from now would be my guess.
My past estimate was about 180 years from 2009 or so when I first realized it was coming.
No longer than that though...
Maybe way sooner.
Not sure, doesn't really matter.
What I am definitely convinced of is that it's absolutely coming, and this is why we are experiencing these insanely cram-packed lives.
It will just ramp up, more and more cram-packing to absolutely insane levels before it just explodes.
Essentially the prophecy is that we will get out into space and have a lot of fun as a local space faring race for a time...
Then it's lights out for every motherfucker around.
No colonizing other planets... it'll prove a fail before this wipeout even happens. They'll realize that colonization is stupid and that local space travel, mining, etc. is really the only option.
After that, it's wiped clean... life will spring up again in 100,000 years or whatever, then it's an exponential evolutionary process and the whole thing starts again.
Slightly different every time, but always wiped the fuck out in the end.

But nobody is that excited about being in orbit.
Everybody just wants to fly around in space.
I mean some people will probably love being in orbit, but it's more of a niche thing.
You'd be surprised how fast you get used to the view.

But I also think it's possible that these huge asteroid strikes could cause the planet to sorta crack like an egg and that's the catalyst for the expansions in the first place.
I'm sorta undecided on what I really think about that.
Could also just be the sun which causes the earth to expand... would make sense considering it's the reason everything else grows, sooo yeah.
