1978 Dr. Strange Was Way Better
#1

I'll take this ALL day long over the current soulless CGI shitscape of nothing.

:27 you know THAT bitch is a Scorpio.

:34 totally looks like the beginning of a vintage porn film.

:57 Scorpio confirmed.

1:04 omg that shot. Pure noir. It's gorgeous.

1:12 That painting and the sculpture next to it? See, you go into a sorcerer's lair, and it's not all phallic shit like you'll find in a wizard's lair. It's yonic af in a sorcerer's lair. Also, the word "yonic" is superior to phallic imo. It looks better, it sounds better and it feels better.

Y O N I C

1:26 "You should learn whose powers to respect." That's all this video is to me, now.

This is a totally different trailer.

:30 Another really great shot. It looks like a painting. Great use of light and shadow.

1:40 Okay wow. This one has an even BETTER ending than the first, which is hard to believe. LOL! This bitch doesn't play, and yet she totally DOES, if you know what I mean. She is loving life right there.

I would give you one, but I can't NOT tickle in conjunction with hugging, and I feel like that might be inappropriate.

Even though my family is used to it, I try not to do it to strangers?!

I love those quiet, low key tormented types...

So sexy.

I've never even seen Dr. Strange, TBH.

Not any version of it ever, but I can't see how any of them would top this.

The late '70s (and the whole decade in general, really) was a legendary time for horror films.

"The Other" (1972) was one of my favorite '70s horror movies...

It could have only happened in the '70s.

Saw it when I was probably 13 or so...

It really stuck with me, it was actually a very interesting and spiritual plot based in some real shit.

I remember it was playing on AMC at my grandma's house...

There was another legendary movie that came on afterward...

Ah yes, "The Innocents" (1961)...

It was a great night for old horror films, it's just emblazoned on my memory forever.

As a side note, wow, check out the badass intro on that video. I have never seen that before. Pretty stunning.

The Innocents sucked compared to The Other, but I still watched it anyway. TBH, The Other is a hard act to follow.

Rosemary's Baby was '68 but it has that 70's psychological bleakness.

One of the creepiest films I've ever seen (kept me up at night as a kid, too) was The Tenant.

2:16 holy shit man.

So gloriously frightening, and look at those spiral staircases, just puts it over the edge.

It's a beautiful piece of cinema. There's a floating decapitated head at one point in the movie that didn't really sit well with me as a kid. Definitely milked that nightlight for a few weeks after.
