0:05 keep in mind that when I commentate, I am expressing WHAT I THINK is true, and what I think is going on...

I didn't read or hear about any of this before I watched that interview yesterday.

If you think I'm not right about everything, all the time...

Well you're just wrong.

So apparently he's got another album release this year too, "Entering Heaven Alive"...

Seems like that one maybe has more acoustic kinda songs on it, that's the one "Love Is Selfish" is on, and I prefer that kinda classic Jack sound.

But I was not disappointed with Fear Of The Dawn, it's a little out there, but it's better than his early solo stuff.

Now bear in mind, you could never say his early solo stuff wasn't "good", you couldn't say the music was "bad"...

The amount of artists he had working with him? No way. It wasn't "bad" music, lmao. It just wasn't something I liked.

Did that stop me from buying physical copies of every single Stripes and Jack White album ever though? Nope. ROFL!!!

I did the same thing with Billy Corgan/Smashing Pumpkins... but I sold my collection on eBay years back when I got pissed at Billy. Props to whoever bought that, you made a good choice.

I boxed up my Jack collection to sell around the same time but never got around to listing it. I'm actually glad... it's not like I'll ever even open that box again, but it's cool to have it since I have nothing against Jack personally.

I don't dislike Billy anymore either, it was just a temporary difference of opinions... but I don't regret selling that collection. I did keep a copy of "Blinking With Fists" though. Books > CDs.

Because of childhood nostalgia, the Jack White CD collection was more important to me...

Especially Elephant.

I had somebody come on the other day and try to tell me I'm "obsessed" with Jack White and that's partly why I edited the title of this thread, and this title is just superior to the original anyway.

I always think it's sad when people try to say I'm "obsessed" with things...

It's sad because they don't have the ability or the passion inside themselves to express their thoughts about subjects that interest them.

It makes me sort of believe the NPC theory.

People who can't do what I do (damn near effortlessly, at that) think I'm "obsessed" with any one thing. Whatever the topic is, they think I'm obsessed with "just" that. They think I can't spread my attention to countless things at the same time.

It makes me wonder what their thoughts/minds must be like... what goes on in there? Does anything go on in there?

It takes so little effort for me to write what I write here... it takes so little effort or attention for me to share my thoughts and opinions.

For me, this the easiest thing in the world. And I'm not 'obsessed' with Jack or anyone/anything else I discuss here. That's just how easy it is for me to pontificate about any one subject.

Is it valuable? Not really to anyone besides me. But that's all I care about anyway... my own pleasure. My own opinion. My own enjoyment. My own interests.

I wish other people could feel passion...

But I sincerely believe that most of them do not.

I've been told as much, by many people.

Well, I mean, I'll be real...

That's true these days, but years back I WAS obsessed with one subject I discussed here...

Haven't been obsessed with any of the topics for years though.

I'll give you a hint, it's the largest thread on the site.

I was totally obsessed with that topic, not gonna lie.

That was REAL shit. But everything else, couldn't care less.

I am not obsessed with any of the shit I talk about...

Hella mega fucking entertained, yes.

Making fun on almost a constant basis, yes.

Being perverted because I think it's funny, yes.

Genuinely and legitimately obsessed, definitely not.

I've been a Jack White fan since I was a teenager.

I've thought he was mega hot and fuckable ever since those days.

But I've never been to one of his shows, never made any effort to actually attend any venue where he's known to be.

Even though it'd have been really easy for me to do over the years.

I guess it's fair to say I was a more dedicated Billy Corgan fan as I did attend one of his shows, and actually did attend a wrestling event as well.

It was A LOT of fun, holy crap. And I was like... max 15 ft. away from him for most of the time at those events.

I was DEFINITELY a hardcore Billy fan for a hot minute.

But eventually my interest kinda tanked, and I had differences of opinion with him which also made me not really give a shit anymore.

I am super glad I did go to those events though because they were SO much fun and totally enriching life experiences. There was so much super awesome energy in those venues, so many totally cool peeps who LOVED music, or LOVED wrestling... tons of PASSION.

I'm telling you, passion is the most important thing in life. Without it, what's it for?

I can't remember exactly what happened, but at the wrestling event, one of the super cool people there was trying to point out some weird shit going on and trying to protect me from something in the crowd. He actually grabbed my arm and like... shielded me with his own body from whatever the fuck was going on. Bahahaha... oh man. It was wild. Such a great thing that was facilitated by Billy Corgan, and that's above and beyond what you can do if you're "just" a rockstar. It's so amazing that Jack and Billy went beyond "just" being rockstars, and they invested their money in REAL businesses, and in brands and legacies that truly are bigger than themselves, and long lasting enterprises. It's really something I admire and hope to do what I can to attain the same thing in my life.

That Jack White doc was great. Had never seen a long form interview with him. What a badass, living a dream life with no phone.
And yeah seems incredibly down to earth for his level of stardom. The interviewer was good, except for calling him the "Willie Wonker" of music. But Jack looked at his watch once so they're even. He's actually way taller than I thought--usually with stars it's the opposite...makes him even cooler.
And no need to defend your commentaries. Tossing off such eloquent, fluid prose so quickly is a true talent. And your passion for seeing and noting truth about things that interest you, the loving attention you pay to details...is beautiful.
All while also being hilarious and fending off babble from demented guests...truly impressive.

Thank you so much, Guest, and I really appreciate your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the interview... I've seen a lot of his interviews, and that was definitely the best of all time.

Can't believe I wrote tossing off and fluid...I do love your writing but maybe I've been reading too much haha

I feel like they were already married and just did this stunt to introduce her to the public, probably because she's gonna start cranking out babies. They've been together for like 10 years or some shit.
