I just kinda felt like maybe that guy was gonna lay the pipe on Kitty with Matt's blessing and he might even join in too.

I'm sure it was 100% wishful thinking but it sure seemed LACED.

Okay so he was trying to save Kitty apparently. And that's real nice. And maybe Matt just wanted to show some gratitude.

It's so... vague. You can believe whatever you wanna believe. And none of it's ever discussed again either because every episode is a new plot. So you're not necessarily right, but you're not necessarily wrong.

And I know the writers etc. were big on implying things because they literally said it was one of their tactics.

This show is like a lightning bolt to the imagination, it electrifies the shit out of it.

But I think one of the most important things is the art of implication.

They were absolute masters of it on this show.

This was true of a lot of things back in the day. Song lyrics had a lot of double entendres and euphemisms in place of the explicit lyrics we hear today. A good example is "Little Red Corvette."

When I was quality control checking the DVDs and playing a few seconds of each episode, I noticed that something changed around the very late seasons, probably after 1970... there was something about the cameras or some other method of production that gave you the feeling that it was the '70s.

I'll bet it was the switch from film to videotape.

The producers of M*A*S*H chose to use film instead of video for the TV series when it came out in the early 70s, to give it a classier look.
