S8 E3 - "Quint Asper Comes Home"
So Quint is Burt Reynolds' character. I am guessing this will be the first episode of his tenure on the show.
2:35 it's about time to take care of these guys.
3:17 dddaammmmnnnnn, holy shit!!! That was a strong AF entrance by the legendary Burt Reynolds, lol!??!?
3:37 his addition to the cast was clearly for the ladiez!!! The laaayyydehhhzz.
4:24 "Don't talk like that, Quint, it's bad medicine." Well said, so true.
4:30 Burt Reynolds is hot AF... that's for sure. But no eye candy that comes on the show is ever gonna outrank Marshal Dillon. I appreciate their thoughtfulness though, I really do. He's just sooooo young, it's trippy to see him that way and I never realized he was even on Gunsmoke before I started watching it. When I think Burt Reynolds, I think "Smokey and the Bandit" (1977) and an over-40 Burt looking absurdly handsome. Here, he's practically a kid at 26!
4:55 he's sooooo hairy too. I absolutely love it. Like, let's not forget... https://i.imgur.com/LnA4FXq.jpg
6:37 I bet countless women viewers of Gunsmoke fell in love right then and there.
11:00 I'm thinking they're not gonna want Quint to stay there. I vote he relocates to Dodge City and maybe becomes a blacksmith or something!?
15:45 God I hate loud shit, lmao.
43:50 so how the fuck does it go from this to Quint owning a blacksmithing business, lmao??
Nothing compares to Marshal Dillon's hotness... https://imgur.com/a/ZH3PFdw But I guess it never hurts to have some extra eye candy around!!!

S8 E4 - "Root Down"
0:30 so I notice that Kathleen Hite wrote A LOTTTT of these episodes. Sure never heard of her before, but God bless her!
0:49 pretty dress.
3:20 lol, I like her dad. I'ma just say it, I like him. I hope he doesn't do anything to make me not like him.
6:28 I like this old actor dude, I haven't seen him in a million years... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_McNear
13:37 "There's times when I wish I were a man for awhile!" ... "If you're gonna try that, you better do it while I'm outta town, will ya?" Roflmfaololol.
44:24 I love it when he gets involved in wagon chases!!!

1:32 that skirt looks too modern... looks 1950s.
1:52 she seems too modern. She's been on the show before too... https://www.sectual.com/thread-18541-pos...#pid154649
2:50 I like the lines in this guy's face, super sexy.
13:50 it's so sexy how those spurs jingle when he walks.
22:40 I think a bigger question is, where the hell IS here?? Are we finally seeing where Marshal Dillon LIVES?? It's like the male version of Miss Kitty's room.
23:29 oh THAT'S HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
37:02 I notice Chester's around a lot less now that Quint is on the show. This is the last season with Chester.
45:55 I like this sly little game Matt and Quint are playing with them.

2:55 Collie's pretty hot, he vaguely looks like Clint Eastwood.
20:08 I think these two still love each other... that's pretty hot.
23:48 well that went downhill fast, lmao =\
27:10 yeah, SIDDDDDOOOWWWWNNNNN.
44:55 this guy's in it for something, but I'm not sure what it is.
47:30 looks like Rob's got a new dad, roflmfaoooo!!!!!!!!!!
47:50 great music.

S8 E7 - "The Ditch"
0:50 "Moon Bar Ranch" I like the sound of that.
1:25 all the camera work has taken such a huge step up from the earlier seasons. It's really just beautiful.
Most shows start out great and just start to kinda be less great as they go along, a lot of them just end up plain sucking, and pretty fast too. But Gunsmoke started out great, and just kept getting greater. I'm sure someday, it's all gotta plateau, or even go downhill... it'd pretty much be breaking the laws of science/nature etc. if it didn't. I guess we'll find out.
33:20 too much shooting and other loud noises in this episode, but that was a nice punch! I love seeing Matt defend Kitty's honor!
37:50 I like this guy on the right, he plays a good bad guy.

Happy to report the volume levels have returned back to normal on these season 8 episodes.
14:02 lol same shit, different century! I do love Matt's attitude about it though.
23:30 it's pretty cool watching an episode where everyone says my name 100 times!
33:50 oh come on, Marshal Dillon ain't dumb, he knows they have the girl.
35:12 that's a pretty baller hat Quint is wearing, never seen one like it.
36:00 unfuckinbelievable.
37:40 Quint is a lovable and badass character for sure. He was in 50 episodes between 1962 and 1965.
41:37 fuck I love these two.
43:40 such a good show, God it's amazing.
46:08 OH MY GOD I LOVE QUINT.
48:12 ahahahaha, that was a good laugh.
Sigh... wow. Gunsmoke.

1:48 well I instantly feel sorry for this lady, lmao, you can tell she's married to a bastard.
12:30 look at that camera pan down the Marshal's body, I've never seen a finer man in all my life.
17:30 Milburn Stone was so excellent in this role, there's absolutely nothing about his portrayal that would lead you to believe he's been anything other than a frontier doctor for like 30 years.
19:44 shit, I'd be in love with Doc too.
21:36 if only they had Google back then, rofl.
31:22 "Why don't you go get yourself a bowl of soup and get a fresh run at it in the morning?" roflmfaolol this part had me cracking up!!! The look on her face says it all!!! https://i.imgur.com/GLQRqib.png
40:11 THIS ISN'T HELPING HER LOVE YOU ANY LESS, DOC. I'M JUST SAYING.
40:46 that's a wise man. See, this is why I love Gunsmoke. Nothing compares.
45:55 HELL YEEEHEHEHEAAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta love that western melodrama baby!?

The rate of "dud" episodes is a lot higher on my other favorite shows than it is on Gunsmoke.
The Twilight Zone for example had quite a few dud episodes if you ask me... they were great by the standards of any show made in recent times. But they were duds when you compare them to the "seriously amazing" Twilizn episodes.
Then there was that unfortunate time period in which they used the "soap opera cameras" with the fucked up frame rates (I don't know the technical terms), and they used those on a few episodes/stories that would have been perfect were it not for the absolutely compromised atmosphere those cameras caused. The Twilight Zone was not perfect. Totally epic and better than basically all other shows, yeah.
But when you compare it to Gunsmoke? Even though they're totally different and there's no ACTUAL comparison there...
Gunsmoke was the better show just for the sustained excellence of quality and storylines throughout at least what I've seen so far. Little less than halfway through the series now. That still leaves a lot of room for duds to become more frequent, for lame and unfit guest stars to come on, for weird camera or other equipment fails to happen. But 8 seasons and still going this strong? Still just getting better after having started FROM greatness? That's absolutely remarkable.
Anything compared to Gunsmoke is imperfect at best. This show is so excellent that it makes the imperfections of even the other greatest shows of all time so much more easy to notice.
Due to its western niche, it's unlikely very many people will hold this same opinion. As a more general rule, Twilight Zone is still #1. But for anyone who isn't adverse to the western niche (like I was for a long time), you gotta admit that Gunsmoke basically stands above and beyond all the other behemoths of TV history's greatest.

3:38 the only thing remotely good about this guy is that leather medicine bag around his neck, lmao.
4:16 I think this warrants a visit to Marshal Dillon.
5:20 the last thing I'd be inclined to believe after an experience like that is that he was bluffing, lmao.
8:50 it's just so funny because Dodge City in the 1880s probably had like 200 people in it, lmao it was tiny.
This article says in 1885 the population was 1200...

9:07 dude this guy is such a ray of fucking sunshine though. Really.
10:10 TWENTY FUCKING MILES AWAY FROM HIM and he's STILL hassling them like he owns the whole country, man fuck this guy.
11:00 bro NOBODY CARES about the "good old days" okay.
11:50 like okay man, we get it... but what the fuck does any of that have to do with two poor landowners trying to survive?? Talk about misplaced anger.
13:28 I dunno if that was thunder or the wind blowing on a mic.
13:47 just got off a trail KILLIN' SOME NATURE!? Friggen hypocrite. Guy lives in more of a fantasy world than I DO!?
14:08 7 or 8 lbs?! Damn, sounds to me like this guy is singlehandedly responsible for killing a shit ton of buffalo though?! Maybe that's the point... they're trying to highlight his hypocrisy.
14:45 I ASKED THE SAME THING EARLIER!!!!!!!!!!!! Lmao, it's just unbelievable, this show is amazing.
18:22 moral of the story, don't have kids!
20:10 the rules ain't changed much since then, lol.
27:30 he's at the cave, bro.
37:55 hell no you can't blame them.
43:07 dude I *fucking* hate this guy.

I originally watched this episode on page 1...
This is my original commentary and I will just leave it like it is, no timestamps.
Quote:Miss Kitty's got a super controlling psycho bro on her tail! He just grabbed her arm. He's blaming his violent controlling behavior on a head injury?!
Marshal Dillon's totally gonna have to kill this guy!!!
Yuuuup, he just shot him. BAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
Dude this show is fucking FIIIIREEEEEEE.

5:17 why I'll be, IT'S FESTUS!!! He's actually playing the Festus character in this episode.
6:50 YEAH! GET TO WORK, BOY!
30:40 I'd be ALL OVER Festus.
42:10 I fucking despise the way she talks.
49:50 whatever, that bitch is annoying as fuck and not hot enough for it to be okay either. Hopefully Festus fucking loses her before he comes back on the show.

3:00 Doc and Chester are signing together!!!
11:17 OMG lmao!!! Oh man, this is NOT going well for Chester. He needs to stick to law work.
13:44 oh this guy looks like trouble.
18:30 lmao, I dunno, Matt, it kinda is.
20:20 well this isn't awkward and slightly creepy or anything lol!!!
28:00 oh man this guy just oozes creepster. What the EFF?!??!?!?!?
29:00 pretty sure she'd rather fuck Chester, I'm just saying. I would rather she fuck Chester too, let's be real.
31:26 lolol, he's right though, that's what I figured all along. I just don't know what the hell he's doing with her.
32:10 oh whatever lady, you know you're gonna go out and meet that weird creepy greasy dude from earlier. Why the hell would she wanna meet with anyone BESIDES Chester?? SHE KNOWS they're not even related.
36:50 GROSS, OMG. I CANNOT BELIEVE SHE WENT OUT TO MEET HIM. WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER???!?!?!?? Chester is soooo much hotter than this guy.
40:08 well it's a good thing Chester saw this.

While I was writing the latest review, I finally figured out the mystery of the thread getting pinned...
There's literally a box in the "Quick Reply" form that you can click (if you're a mod) that says "Stick Thread", lmfaoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wwwwwooooowwwwww.
And I just now saw this. I am so serious.
I realized it was there when I was clicking back into the thread window from the media player to make a comment about something. Instead of clicking into the text field, I accidentally checked the "Stick Thread" box, ROFL!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my.

S8 E15 - "False Front"
1:20 OMG Marshal Dillon looks sooooo good dressed up that way. Wonder what he's doing in this ritzy place in Kansas City??
1:40 he seems so natural in this environment. Lmao he's like unimpressed with this journalist guy.
1:56 look at his gorgeous huge hands. They're so big and long and thick.
2:50 he thinks these people are pussies.
3:00 lmao he's looking at him like "This guy literally has no idea what he's talking about."
4:06 lol he decides to go into this super uppity saloon... that's so hot.
4:55 "Well, Miss, I'm afraid I'm a poor man." ... "Sorry to hear that." Roflmfaololol, he knew how to get rid of her fast!!!
5:15 "Pretty hard to agree with a man who doesn't know what he's talking about," BAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
6:56 whoa, it's so weird to see an actual city on this show.
7:30 that was a CRAAAAAAZY stunt.
8:36 Clay Tatum, that's a pretty sexy name. Looks like we're gonna get to chill with this hottie for a whole episode.
14:14 man this journalist guy is off to a terrible start, these guys run cattle, they can smell bullshit from a mile away... this is gonna end badly for the hottie.
16:06 see this is what's so weird about this show. Doc comes into the Marshal's office, doesn't immediately see Matt, yells for Matt, and Matt emerges from the jail cell room. The whole time you have this feeling that Doc's gonna ask him what he's doing in there. And when he emerges, that's exactly what he asks him. The thing is... why would it be so strange that he was in there? He's the Marshal. That's his office. That's the jail cell room. It's not beyond the realm of possibility he'd be in there, it's not like it's even odd. So why did it FEEL that way? Why were we thinking Doc was gonna ask why he was in there? HOW is all of this implied? I've never seen this before in any other show or movie. I don't know HOW they do it. And it's not even simple familiarity with the show at this point... it's been this way from day 1 in the series.
16:55 see, the marshal knows that this journalist guy is a scumbo. He's naturally suspicious of him and he's going to suspect him in this ruse.
17:27 and here comes hottie, lookin' green as grass, not convincing in the slightest as a gunfighter, at least not that I can tell so far.
17:32 never even worn a gun belt before, ain't even comfortable in one.
17:40 never even been out west, ain't even used to it.
17:50 it'd be awkward to silently mouth words to your co-star in a scene like this, lol. Agh, I dunnnnoooo. I dunno if I could do it.
19:09 whole boatload of awkward going on in this episode, lmaaaaaooooo.
19:11 poor fella's nervous, as well he should be... guy's gonna get him killed.
20:00 kinda makes you wanna tuck him away safely in your vagina, don't it Miss Kitty!?
20:32 kid's prolly gonna shit himself when the marshal walks up to him, lmao.
21:22 marshal knows he's not a gunman just from that interaction alone.
23:46 no you don't know what you're talking about and you never have.
25:10 this guy is actually a natural AF!
26:02 oh whatever, even if he CAN hit those bottles, it's not like it's even remotely the same thing as hitting an opponent.
26:20 well he's gonna get in trouble for this with the marshal straight off, no shooting is allowed in town.
29:28 I don't get what this fucking guy's problem is, SOMEBODY had to lose the bet.
32:30 this guy saved that blind dude's life at the beginning of the episode, pretty sure he doesn't have it coming to him for any reason. Like yeah, he's gotten a little big for his britches, but it doesn't mean he should die.
33:20 damn, I dunno, I mean that was pretty hot. Seemed pretty reasonable to me. Seems better than a gunfighter.
34:00 this is Robert Brubaker's final appearance in the role of sexy Jim Buck the stagecoach driver.
34:10 Senator MCGOVERN?????? Come onnnn.
36:18 if he picks this guy, he's gonna get killed for sure.
38:40 lmfaaaaooo the look that horse gave the camera was like "Fuckin' guy." Roflmfaololol.
40:40 OMG, what the hell even just happened?!?!?!? I am gonna have to watch that again, like. I didn't even see what happened and I didn't even blink either. That's how fast it was.
40:40 okay I rewatched it and wow... that was some of the fastest drawing I've seen on the show. I'm gonna have to watch it again just to get it totally straight.
42:10 so, what, is this a story of 'fake it til you make it'??
45:58 I KNEW this guy was gonna do something stupid.
