As I was seeing all these different photos of women from the era, I just thought, one of these days, we're gonna DEFINITELY start seeing "twins" of people.

Because photos have been around since the 1800s, that's already a pretty long time, new photos being taken and posted online daily...

That's what I hate about today's image searches. They can find other copies of the exact same image, but the other matches are always wide of the mark.

They were a rather mundane hard rock band featuring twin sisters who sound like Joan Jett or Lita Ford.

Here's the story. The sequence of events is unclear, but this is what I've pieced together.

Twin sisters Pamela and Paula Mattioli of Buffalo NY left home at age 16 to pursue a music career. At some point, they ended up in Miami and joined a band called Gypsy Queen.

It seems they weren't with Gypsy Queen for very long before they moved to L.A. and formed Cell Mates in 1992.

Pamela died in 2014, after which Paula rejoined Gypsy Queen. This song is their tribute to Pamela.

Now it makes sense. Paula said they left Gypsy Queen when the twins got a record deal because the record company didn't want to foot the cost of moving the whole band to L.A.
