These days you're all rushed into naming your kid so they can print up a government serial number for 'em...
But back in the day before all that hogwash, I bet people didn't always name their kids immediately after they were born.
It only makes sense you'd wanna spend a while with the babychild and study their personality before you slap a name on 'em!?

Right? Same way with cats. Except for Audrey. I took one look at her and said, "She looks like Audrey Hepburn!"
American Indians supposedly named children based on signs they saw in nature.

Speaking of Audrey, it's raining. That means she'll come home today. She stays gone for days, sometimes a week at a time. But she comes home when it rains.
I don't even worry about her anymore. She has her own agenda, and I respect that.

I was thinking about Native American names when I posted this thread too...
They make a lot more sense than the system we go by these days, in my opinion.

Yeah I always tend to outside cats, and particularly in the country, they sometimes run away for long periods of time. Mine usually don't stay gone for a week. Townie cats outside though, typically when they disappear for more than a few days, it's permanent... that's been my experience.

Elvis disappeared, which was suspicious as hell. He was lazy, and never wandered far from the house.
My mom and aunt were talking about getting rid of him right before he disappeared. So yeah - suspicious.

I wouldn't assume any human fault there...
You'd be surprised at how supernatural cats really are.

Have you ever seen a cat enter the room or round a corner before they actually have??
Like you turn your head because you unmistakably see the cat out of the corner of your eye, but when you turn your head they come in just a second later?
That's the kinda stuff they do...
Cats are actually traveling between planes of existence all the time. I guess it's called the spirit realm.
That's partly what was being referenced in The Matrix cat scene...

I can believe that. Cats can walk through walls and what-not.

My childhood cat could get doors opened for him...
Not by any living person either.
I believe he had a ghost on his side, or at least that's what I felt was the explanation at the time.
Once I heard this specific door in the house open, knob turn and all, and a few seconds later, in walks the cat.
There was nobody around who could have let him in.
One night I woke up and my bedroom light was on, the door was closed, and the cat was laying on the bed with me. Just there, no explanation as to how he got in, no explanation as to how the light got turned on. Lol.

Why did he turn the light on? Cats like to sleep in the dark.

If it had been dark and he was randomly there, I think it would have scared the shit out of me... when I woke up and the light was on, I immediately knew something was amiss, then I looked down and saw him at the end of the bed. He never really got to come in my room, I was sort of allergic to him. Some cats' fur bothers me, some doesn't. We had a great relationship aside from that though, we were together for 13 years and he lived for 16 years.
