I think it's some of the weirdest music (at least from back in the day) that ever went mainstream and I love it.

The Cars couldn't have existed at any other time in history... the style and the sound was a product of its era, there was kind of a transition going on in music at the time. Those conditions paired with Ric's weird ass and Greg Hawkes on the synths created something totally unique.

SNL is so stingy with their musical guest uploads on YouTube, you gotta go to places like Vimeo and Farcebook to find videos of The Cars performances. Even FB has muted the audio on a lot of the uploads. Thank God for persistent fans!

Ben really had such a beautiful voice, he was great in live performances. I had no idea Timothy Hutton directed the official music video, I always thought he was just an actor. It was their best music video.
