The carports and barns actually have the exact same design. I barn just has walls. They are both post structures.
I set a bucket out with water in it, and peanut butter on the inside walls. That drowns the evil little mice. I also cleared more of my property of all bushes. I'm going to get a hoe (the tool kind) and turn over the soil. Then I can just walk around and hard pack it. That makes the rodents easy prey for the birds. You want a barren, "mars like" property. I am also going to mix flour and baking soda, which kills the mice very effectively by exploding their stomachs. These trap and poison combos are better than most commercial ones.

I'm going to use the old lumber from my old carport for the new small barn style gtructure. Then I'm going to build a greenhouse/chicken coop enclosure with the scraps so I can recycle all of my grey water and scraps, which I think attracts the critters a lot.

My 5-gallon bucket, water trap killed a packrat on the second night. It was so awesome. The snap traps and poison from the store did not even work on them. But I found out the water bucket is super effective, and also, the baking soda for poising them which I'm gunna try soon. Luckily, I keep them out of my shed and carport, I have it sealed off from them. I use sheet metal and wire mesh on the carport.

It's actually metal flashing material that I use on the carport, for roofs.

I gotchyer staunch right here, Fung.

I took a less gay selfie. I think I was looking really pale in the other one, because I had eaten some fried chicken from the grocery store that was sitting in my car before, and it had gone kinda bad.

I've heard it debated that the two hour rule for leaving food out can be flexible. You hear about homeless people digging sammiches outta dumpsters, and they don't get sick. I guess pushing it too far can have consequences but I just wonder where the line is. Maybe the food they throw in the dumpster just has a lot more preservatives than the grocery store chicken.

I'm pretty sure it's the Arizona sun and heat. It get's your car like an oven inside. Food seems to go pretty quick I noticed.

It depends on your constitution. I can eat food that has been sitting out a day, if it was cooked properly.

I guess it's due to being exposed to all kinds of shit when I was a kid.
Kids nowadays that get vaccinated for every little thing tend to have a lot of allergies and whatnot, I've noticed.

Yeah, I actually do leave my food out for most of the day after I cook it, then put it away at night. I have just had bad luck with stuff in my car, or maybe it is just the fried chicken from the grocery store. Could have just been that.

If you go through the self serve checkout and try to scan something 1 minute past its used by date it won't work. I bought some pasta fresh latina pasta was 10 days before its used by dat kept it in the fridge it grew blue mold on it. I did take it back but was wondering what would happen if I dried it out and snorted it ![]() ![]()

Seems like after you get food poisoning once, you're more susceptible to getting it again.
I hooked up my new inverter, to my lithium batteries. It is bigger than my other one, which I moved over to my other circuit with the lead acid battery. I can power up to 400 watt appliances now with the new inverter. Not quite a microwave, but pretty close. It can power things like a pressure cooker, maybe a toaster. I just have to get some small appliances for it. I will for sure get a second slow cooker too.

The last thing I have to do now, is hook up my 3rd solar panel on my lithium batteries, then I will have the power to run a ton of stuff too.

I'm back in AZ. I do have to move one of my windows to the other side of the cabin so I can get a better cross breaze. Its been hot.
07-12-2023, 06:18 PM
Good call Dan... I think we were discussing optimal window positioning at some point. Cross breeze is very important, the more fresh air that can flow thru the space, the better. Good air circulation is as important as getting the sun shining into the space for disinfecting purposes.

Yeah. The air does not circulate well with them only on one side.
