Plasma lighters...

Lightning
So I've had a plasma lighter in the past...

https://www.amazon.com/Lighter-Electric-...B07Q7GSWZ6

But the design wasn't great on it, I considered it to be dangerous. You certainly couldn't just throw it in a bag and go on with your day as if there's no danger that the button's gonna get pushed and it's gonna start arcing and catching shit on fire, lolol.

Definitely get one with a secure design, lockable cap if possible.

These things are very mesmerizing to watch. And they sound cool too. It's just a very pleasing experience to use one just to see it operate.

It's like a plasma globe, but it's a lighter.

Here's the problem...

Apparently it creates ozone and I dunno how dangerous it is.

It's small, WAY smaller than a plasma globe, so how dangerous could it really be??

I try not to press the button and watch it for TOO long.

Just until I feel satisfied.

A couple years back, I ran down the battery in the other plasma lighter I have because I wanted to store it safely with no chance that the button was gonna get pushed.

I didn't think about the 'dangers' of pressing the button for that long, didn't realize the whole ozone thing and I'm just not sure how dangerous these things really are.

I can't seem to get a straight answer searching around online.

But man...

You wanna talk about a fucking EPIC "fidget toy", these plasma lighters are...

Well, they cover a lot of bases. They're good for all the senses, they sound cool, they're entertaining to look at, the lighter device itself is nice to hold, there's a cap that you gotta flip on it, also cool.

I just wanna know how dangerous the ozone is from a little lighter like this, how bad can it be?? How long can you safely push the button and run it without generating a dangerous amount of ozone??

Anyways.

That's all I wanted to say.

Zippos are cool too, but they're also burning fuel which is toxic. The delicious smell of striking a Zippo is actually toxic fumes, lmao. I mean it's like you can't get away from this shit. So which is worse??

I like old school flame and I do appreciate fiddling around with a Zippo, but you do burn fuel. I need a new can of lighter fluid and I don't feel like going out and getting one. Where the hell do you get one anyways?? You gotta ask for it behind the counter or something?? I can't.

Why's it all gotta be so complicated.

All I wanna do is play with fire and plasma.

Whoa dude...

So I walk over to the shelf and pick up one of my Zippos so I can play around with some fire instead, and IT'S A ZIPPO BRAND PLASMA LIGHTER.

Roflmfao.

Imagine my shock when I flip it open and it's a plasma lighter.

What the fuck. I thought it was a regular Zippo. Das crayzee.

It's cool as fuck though.

See I'd play with this shit all day if I didn't think it was dangerous.

Mmmm. I'ma say nothing prolly beats an old school regular Zippo.

Feels different when you flip it open.

And the smell is so delicious.

I can't believe there's a whole market of "fidget toys" when Zippos exist.

Hell dude, you could give an empty Zippo to a kid, totally safe.

They could strike it and watch the little sparks that happen cuz it's outta fuel.

And my thing is like...

The lighter fuel burning and the way it just makes the whole lighter smell...

It's so good that I don't even care if it's toxic.

When I think about the classic Zippo, I'm like "We all gotta die sometime."

But when I think about the plasma lighter, I dunno. I feel sorta suspicious of it.

BUT. When you're operating the plasma lighter, it's like you're holding lightning in the palm of your hand.

That's hard to beat. It's entrancing. It feels powerful.

And the sound of it. It's so high pitched and... electrical.

I need to put some fuel in this Zippo.

I have more lighter fluid left than I thought I did, there's at least a good 1/3 of the bottle left.

I need to listen to some CCR while I fill this up...

You know what... there's something in the experience of filling the lighter up with fuel.

I think I see the exquisite beauty now. I think I see why classic Zippo will always win.

I like to sniff the Zippo right after I close it and extinguish the flame.

See that's why the Zippo wins against the plasma lighter, it's cuz there's really no pleasant smell experience with the plasma lighter.

You could prolly smell the ozone, but apparently that's dangerous as fuck.

So which is worse, the lighter fluid or the ozone?

I think it's prolly the ozone. Just cuz it's so much more... unnatural than fuel.

Or maybe it isn't. I mean... I dunno.

I don't get the immediate impression that I should trust that this guy knows what the fuck he's talking about.

Cuz negative ions are generated after storms and stuff. By big bodies of rushing water. So what's the deal?
