In my opinion, art (includes photography) should be shared in every way possible.
It should be put into video form, it should be uploaded as individual photos, it should be printed out, it should be put into a picture book...
All of it.
I'm a big believer that everyone should have THEIR OWN WEBSITE.
We all need a house to live in (or some place of shelter that's ours)...
The website is the internet equivalent of this idea.
Social media has all these people crammed into the ghetto. It's like those overpopulated places in Asia where people live in cubbyholes. That's basically what social media is.
I'm not saying don't upload all your stuff there. You absolutely should.
But you should put it on your own site as well. Nobody can censor it, nobody can take it down, and it's a comprehensive archive of all your material.

My house is meant to accommodate whoever wants to be here.
I talked to a guy who used to have his own site where he hosted games and stuff, he made games and whatnot. It wasn't a community, but it was still a pretty popular destination for people who wanted to play Tetris or whatever. Then over time, he scaled the site back until it just became literally a flash graphic/placeholer.
Eventually, I sent him an email and asked why the heck he did it. He basically said that having your own website wasn't 'popular' anymore and that everyone had 'switched' over to social media...
I was like damn. Really? Somebody who's operated their own successful site for like 15 years is saying it's 'not popular' to do so anymore and that we should just accept 'switching over'. So I said, fuck that... I will never assimilate into some internet ghetto paradigm.
