Marilyn Monroe lifted that famous "Marilyn Monroe walk" from Alice White. Alice starred in the original 1928 version of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, which is presumed to be lost. I hope a print turns up in someone's attic.

I love her so much. I'm going to order every DVD of hers I can find when I get a job. Evidently a lot of people did. She continued reading her fan mail for decades after she retired from show business until her death in the 1980s.

She actually did have 40,000 letters per week coming in at her peak. More than any of the better known stars. Hollywood didn't like Alice very much. Fans adored her.

But they never let you 'in the club' and treat you like 'one of them'.
Of course when one knows the heinous sick twisted actions that are necessary to get into/retain one's place in the club...
