A .22 is more likely to piss off a determined adversary than to neutralize him. You need to set him on his ass with the first shot so he doesn't get a chance to retaliate.
I don't shoot guns often, but when I do, I shoot revolvers.

That's what I'm afraid of, I don't want to just make him angry. I would have to just keep shooting. It is considered a deadly weapon so, I'd aim for the neck.

I don't even know what you'd call that kind of gun. A single-action requires the hammer to be cocked before it will fire. A double-action can be fired either way. It's technically a double-action, but you can't fire it as a single-action, so that just sounds wrong.

they had more traditional views i guess... get a handgun for handgun purposes, shotty for shotty purposes.
they do have a point, i mean a judge with a slug in a shell would have a ridiculous kick to it and i'm sure is close to or louder than a .44/.45. you can get a full size shotty for the price of a judge, and the shotty is a lot more intimidating and likely reliable. got a S&W 9mm pistol and .40S&W hi-point carbine. i don't care what anyone says about hi-point, they make very decent quality stuff. i've been torn between gettin a revolver of sorts and a shotty for a while. not a ton of selection of 9mm/.40 in revolvers. i'd like to be able to share ammo pools between weapons.

I'd have to get that in a long barrel. With a snub nose, the shot would just spray everywhere and not hit the target.
